In one of my pictures you can see the initial area I tried to clean delimited by two red lines. Initially, I was a bit worried because it didn't seem much was happening. However, I kept going at it in that area and I noticed how slowly but surely the fabric was being cleaned.
For 30 minutes, I kept brushing and reappling solution working in small areas (4 hexagons) for up to 8 times per area. I worked my way across the mattress until the machine's cleaning solution tank was almost empty. This is when I took the second picture. I left the top line as a reference for the old picture, however I did not add a second line just to show how it's impossible to tell where the treated fabric ends and the untreated fabric begins. (Yes I'm aware the corner is still dirty. I did not clean that area as I stared to work my way away from that area)
I'm glad that I got this wet vacuum because I also have pets and even though they haven't had an accident yet, I'm now well prepared to clean the moment it happens (or I find out)
Keep in mind that my review does not reflect how tiring it is to constantly press down and brush onto the fabric nor how much time/solution it will require. I also do not know if my cleaning mix is the optional for this task as I bought the solutions based on other people's reviews.

We we're looking at Dewalt's wet vaccum lineup that was considerably cheaper, however, lacked the clean water tank. The clean water tank is important to have if you want to clean efficiently and get rid of stains. I was surprised when I used this vaccum on a 4 month old couch. It sucked up brown liquid that I didn't even know was there. But this does more than just clean upholstery and carpet. If you have a car with fabric cushion, you'll want to have this. The price is a little steep, but definitely worth the investment.
We used this beyond carpet and upholstery through the week we've owned this as a stress test. We had to make sure this vaccum continued to work after discovering a design flaw that I mention below. A bottle of olive oil broke and spilt over the kitchen tiles. Just try and imagine how difficult it can be to clean spilt oil on the floor by using only paper towel. Instead, we put some warm water alongside with a degreaser in the clean water tank, and it sucked up all the olive oil and cleaned the floor extremely well. Because of the way the suction hose is designed, there was no leftover olive oil residue in the suction hose. The suction hose is self cleaning. The vaccum's suction continues to work as well as since the first day we got it.
This little thing also helped in cleaning inside the dishwasher that was long overdue. Again, warm water and degreaser got rid of all the nasty stuff that was in there. However, keep in mind that If you choose to use this beyond for what is intended to do, you'll want to clean the filter and the dirty water tank after each use to ensure the vaccum continues to work well. After each use, we like to clean the dirty water tank and wipe away any residue sitting on top of the filter. Because of the way the vaccum is designed, you'll see dust or hair overtime sitting where the filter is. This vaccum should last a very long time.
There is however one flaw that could be improved upon, which is why I'm giving 4 stars instead 5. We learned this the hard way on the first day we got the vaccum. The clean water tank plastic isn't very sturdy in contrast to the dirty water tank. If you put water that is very hot, you'll see that the tank will warp and almost feel like the plastic is melting away. When I noticed it began to warp, I replaced the hot water with cooler water and put the tank back on the vaccum, letting it sit overnight so the shape wouldn't deform. Luckily, it didn't deform, but it didn't sit right either as a result of the warping. In turn, the water that was in the tank spilt over our laminate floor overnight and unfortunately caused some water damage to the boards. Without any water in the vaccum, and an hour later, I managed to suck up most of the water that was sitting in between the laminates, reducing the damage. Since then, I inspected the tank and put water in. It hasn't leaked again since. I do wish they had the same type of plastic they used on the dirty water tank, as using hot water cleans better. This doesn't take away from this vaccum though. Even after the frustration it caused with our laminate flooring, it's made up it's ground ever since. The postive takeaway is knowing this vaccum can be used for laminate flooring in the future if accidents do happen.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this product for pretty much anyone. It's handy to have and you'll be glad you bought it when accidents happen. You also don't necessarily have to use the trial bottle they give you. Any liquid cleaning solution will do, as long as it's safe to use with plastic.
I've used this thing on a sofa-bed and its respective pillows (PS: Don't mind the wet pillows, everything typically dries within an hour or so), the interior of my mom's 2012 Honda Civic, and my gross office chair I sit on for hours a day. This was able to tackle all of them and bring them back to life. It visibly pulled out and removed the coffee/tea stains in the Honda from weeks ago (possibly months), it finally removed the horrible (tmi) scent deep in the cushion of the office chair, and it made the sofa look like it did when we first bought it. My final battle will be with the old, stained mattresses in our home, wish me luck (haven't tried the permanent stain remover yet)!
Things I especially like:
-I was able to use some regular soap mixed with the hot water as instructed with the machine and it still did a great job, and the respective Bissell formulas should be able to deal with the more serious situations.
-The outlet cord is plenty long, so you won't feel limited on that end
-The self-cleaning tool is genius, allowing you to satisfactorily flush the vacuum cord
-Plenty of water storage for the clean water, I got all seats in the car done on one tank.
-Even more storage for the dirty water tank.
-Super easy to clean as the tanks are nicely split, and there's little chance to accidentally spill the dirty tank by design
(the handle for the dirty tank doubles as a seal for the tank, the only way to open it and thus spill it is by removing it entirely from the machine)
-Considering the relatively few times you'll need to use this, you have plenty of the Bissell formulas for trial, and I looked up the full products and they're not all that bad in price, thankfully.
Things that could be better:
-The vacuum cord is on the shorter side personally, so you do have to lug the machine around at times, so in that sense you might feel limited. This is better suited for dealing with small areas to avoid that though.
-This thing is LOUD, but I'll take that over poor suction (I managed to keep the doors in the car closed while using it and apparently it wasn't all that noticeable in that case)
-Again, it's more suited for smaller areas, otherwise you'll start to get tired doing this by hand (but you'll only be doing this once in a blue moon, right...)

Man bekommt wofür man zahlt.
