Parsonsfield and Sawyer Fredericks were impressive

by Woodsyrama on 10/31/18Swyer Theatre at The Egg - ALBANY

I bought tickets to see Sawyer Fredericks, who I have been a fan of since his blind audition of "Man of Constant Sorrow' on The Voice. Parsonsfield was an unexpected delight. They performed original material, something they have in common with Sawyer Fredericks. I particularly liked the eclectic assortment of instruments on stage, including a saw (yes, a SAW!) and an accordion. The band was high energy and I enjoyed their songs. Sawyer Fredericks' original material evokes deep emotions; I find it hard to hold back the tears on "Broken Home". His unleashed performance of a new original entitled "Amen" was very angry just as he described the song. My favorite parts of the night were when Sawyer and guitarist Jerome Goosman jammed together on 'Stranger' and 'Not my Girl'.

An amazing group of talent. So fun to watch this tight band sing and jump and exude such positivity and Spirit! Would be great to see on a small stage and also could fill a stadium, not to be missed!

Crazy exuberance for the whole set!

by DrBobintheBronx on 6/14/15Mercury Lounge - New York

Parsonsfield displayed their usual over-the/top energy for the whole set at the Mercury Lounge. With the Esty pump organ, two banjos, three mandolins and guitars and the usual resonator bass they played their unique mix of bluegrass, blues and roots music to a dedicated crowd. Well worth the price of admission!
