Heinz Distilled White Vinegar is made from a mixture of fermented sun-ripened corn and fresh water. It's ultra-filtered to guarantee sparkling clarity. Perfect as a marinade for meat, a base for dips or salad dressing, or to preserve fruit and vegetable pieces from darkening. You'll also love it as a natural cleanser for tabletops and coffee makers. Our white vinegar comes in a 1 gallon jug with a recloseable top to prevent spillage.

If your using the vinegar as the recipe states, and not increasing or decreasing the servings. Then you should use it like the recipe calls for, 1 quart of vinegar, to 3 quarts water.

All vinegar in the store is diluted with water to either 4% or 5% acetic acid. They use water to bring the acidity down and all recipes are aware of that. Nobody uses pure vinegar; it would taste bad. You can use any 5% acid content vinegar in canning, not sure about 4%. I hope that helps!

I have bought gallons of Hines vinegar and other brands from Walmart several times over the years.   When canning pickles, I&#39;ve only added water one year.   The pickles with water did not have a very long shelf life and they got a film in the jar.   I&#39;ve never again added water to the vinegar.   They always turn out perfect and the canned pickles do not go bad even after a year of setting sealed.

Check with the new Ball Canning book to make sure of what you need to do.

This vinegar is already diluted  down to 5 %. If you add water it will be to weak to have any affect on the pickling process. I&#39;ve pickled some items and never diluted this vinegar.  There are some vinegars out there  that are much stronger than 5% and they may think  that is what you are using. Hope this helps. I am not an expert on canning but have done a bit in the past.

I wouldn&#39;t use it on bedbugs unless you would like the smell of vinegar where you slept. Try Bed Bug Bully (available online)

I use HOME DEFENCE  IT &#39;S GREAT. i READ THE REASON PEOPLE GET BED BUGS IS BECAUSE THEY DO NO SPRAY THERE HOUSE. I never have any problems ever. Once you get bed bugs its very hard to get rid of them. I hope you solve your problem....

The product is fine, but the packing of the product was poor. Some of the containers leaked slightly due to the poor packing for shipping.

I have ordered Heinz vinegar before with good shipping.   This time the shipping left a lot to be desired.  Though the bottle was taped closed and in a plastic bag, the bottle leaked.  The box was very wet.

What can I say? It's white vinegar at less than $3/gallon. I bought a bunch because I use it abundantly in my laundry to remove B.O. from my athletic wear, running shoes, and remove dog smell from the dogs' blankets and beds. I sometimes use that biodegradable vegetable based laundry detergent which is better for the environment but not great at removing tough odors. Soaking with a cup or two of vinegar does the trick.
