Perfect value for all the content

At first, I was a bit hesitant to get the premium version of the app but I am so happy I did. Hundreds of different workouts and sessions and content that is relevant to my pregnancy week. I like the timeline feature in the app as it allows me record every moment of my pregnancy journey. It would be great to have more control over the workouts videos like moving them back/forward as sometimes I am a bit slow to follow and I want to go back a little bit instead of replaying the whole video.

We're so happy you found Baby2Body and that you've been loving the Premium experience! We really appreciate that feedback on having more control over the workouts as well, that's an update we're hoping to make soon and we'll be sure to share this with our whole team!

Great idea but doesn’t deliver

There are many promising elements to this app but I personally feel it doesn’t manage to deliver a high enough standard given the high cost of it. Like others I feel there is not enough guidance on how to do the exercises and that this is potentially dangerous in the context of pregnancy fitness. There were exercises to do lying on your back for example, with no mention of the fact that it is not recommended to lie on your back for exercises after 16 weeks of pregnancy. In fact no trimester adjustments appear to be mentioned at all, which is just plain weird given that a first trimester woman is in a wildly different physical condition than a third trimester one. Finally, I was very frustrated that there appears to be no filter or preferences for vegans and vegetarians. My dinner and lunch recipes all consisted of chicken or eggs which, as a vegan, was very irritating. I couldn’t even search for appropriate recipes. Basically unless you’re an omnivore the recipes section is pretty useless other than for smoothies, which are all basically what you’d find for free on Pinterest. A few tweaks to the quality of the workouts and the search/filter capacity would make this app worth the asking price. On the plus side, I liked the integration of mindfulness and positive thinking as it is all too easy for pregnancy products to just focus on the physical and ignore the vital element of positive psychology.

Hi there! Thank you for taking the time to leave this review! Educating women on exercise safety throughout pregnancy is hugely important to us -- as is busting the pervasive myths about prenatal exercise, including what you actually need to know about exercises "on your back" -- we have a great blog post on it! All of the routines are built by prenatal and postnatal fitness professionals and each workout you see in your week is safe for that stage of pregnancy, and the routines modify with every passing stage. The app experience is built around educational content that's meant to sit alongside the workouts, but we agree that the workouts themselves could use more prompts along the way in case members don't read the supporting articles, and that is something we're working on! All of our new workouts we're currently building include much more direct guidance from the fitness trainers themselves, so you'll be seeing a lot more of that as well. We also appreciate your feedback on the Kitchen and are looking forward to bringing more updates there! Again, we thank you for your thoughtful review and would love to talk to you about this further! If you reach out to us at support@baby2body.com one of our team members can share information on how to receive free Premium access and early access to new features in return for your feedback. Thank you!

Poor

I’m on my 2nd pregnancy, and not able to travel to a pregnancy class, like I did with my 1st one. I also have done dance, Pilates, yoga for decades, so I have good body awareness and can use this app safely, and can choose better versions of what is suggested. Before I got pregnant again, I was using great apps to stay fit. But the models on this app don’t have great form. An example: bent over chest fly/ triceps extension with weights should be done looking down, so your spine is straight. But models look forward. Good luck with your neck on that. In passed weeks workouts I saw a model doing a movement where your hips should be kept square, but hers was all over the place (lower back pain can be a result to that). And I’m not sure if I’d follow the abs crunch given for the first trimester... Also it seems they record each movement separately, and put together mixing and matching for different workouts (probably to make it cheaper), so there’s a considerable pause between exercises, where inicial instructions are repeated, added to the the fact there’s no heads up of next steps, you might end up doing nothing for too long a time. Exercises are quite short already, and there’s only few option to choose per week. Then some option repeat the week after. So, all in all, quite boring for who’s been exercising already. And on the other hand, can be a problem for beginners who don’t have good body awareness.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. The women on the app demonstrating the workouts are professional prenatal and postnatal fitness trainers and they are demonstrating proper form. Following user feedback, we did work with one pregnant woman to help show how moves might look on a pregnant body, but we're sorry to hear you felt the form was not proper, as that's something really important to us. We do find it's hard to judge that from a front facing video and we've since changed our filming angles to show what the form actually looks like. You are correct, we do have a collection of circuit workouts for quick activities and an easy way to skip certain moves that might not be best suited to everyone. We also have constant-flow routines that don't have the pause and we're currently building more of those types of routines. We're sorry to hear Baby2Body didn't suit you at this time, but thank you for giving it a try and we wish you all the best going forward.
