Yes, the 29472 battery is the largest battery for the G-Max 40v platform.

Actually, I had the same question ... and thus found an &#39;aftermarket&#39; lookalike battery (lime-green, etc.) with a higher Amp-hour Rating was available, as follows: Manufactured by &#39;Enegitech&#39; (Made in China!) 40v, 5.0Ah (200Wh), MPN (Manuf. Part No): &quot;E-GW-405-1&quot; (~&gt;Energ. GreenWorks, 40/5 Volts/Amp-hour), UPC #: 611677926625, ML (?? on battery label): 29662, reportedly a replacement for the Greenworks 40v/ 4Ah G-Max Battery #29472.   Of course there was NO review-history available to verify quality/ compatability/ performance issues, so it would be a &#39;gamble&#39; at $109  each (as of 03/2017), which I wasn&#39;t willing to risk!    Buyer Beware?!

I GOT THE GREENWORKS BATTERY TODAY , I ALREADY USED IT AND I AM VERY HAPPY WITH IT.

As I get older, it becomes harder and harder to start a gasoline-powered chain saw.  So I bought a Greenworks Model 20312 40V chainsaw kit in July of this year and I love it! The saw is light,  starts at the push of a button, is vey quiet, and is very efficient.  However, when the battery is exhausted after about an hour of cutting, it takes 1.5 hours to recharge it.  So I bought a back-up battery 2 weeks ago.  Great move - it saved my neck.  A rock maple (14 inch diameter at the base) had fallen across the narrow trail in my back woods.  The saw cut this very hard tree well into smaller pieces until the battery died.  My back-up battery allowed me to cut my way free.  The alternative would have been to back up my Polaris Ranger 500 feet - a pain in the neck!

I bought this battery about a month ago . Have used it a couple times so far and it last longer !! Needed that for my home landscaping use.

Longer Life

Walmart provided the fastest delivery and cheapest price of any online distributor of this product. Battery arrived the day after I ordered it while others only promised delivery "within 10 days."

Great product

It works fine, although it would be nice if the charge lasted longer.  I bought this second battery so that I could mow both lawns.  (The charge for each battery lasts about 35 minutes.)

Could use a longer charge.

Rubber 4.0 and 2.0 batteries charge indicator buttons both ripped. 4.0's button fell out, so I have to use a stick to check the charge. Water intrusion seems soon to follow.

The battery that came with the mower lasts 20 minutes. We have a small flat yard. We bought a second battery to be able to mow continually. It also lasts 20 minutes. Would NOT recommend the battery or the mower.

Got a brand new battery operated Greenworks snow blower with two batteries. I live in the suburbs with a  single car driveway and sidewalks. This battery was fully charged and it only lasted about four passes on my drive (less than half) before it died. So I put in the second battery and tried to clear my sidewalk, but it died quickly as well. So unless you want to buy a minimim of 3-4 batteries just to do one complete pass on your single car drive, you might as well just put that money toward a gas powered snow blower.

Does Not Last

I have 3 batteries for the different tools I bought. One 4Ah, one 2.5Ah and one 2 Ah. Only one of them made it through one season and of course it's the 2Ah.  The 2.5Ah won't take any charge now and the 4Ah always shows one light on the built in meter. Definitely wouldn't recommend these for the price sense replacing a battery is the most expensive part.
