About

The Chemical Brothers on Tour

Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons have reigned supreme in the dance music world for more than two decades, and their live shows just keep getting better as time goes on. Pairing eye-popping visuals and special guests such as dancers and robots with their massive dance hits, a Chemical Brothers show proves they're one of dance music's premier acts, with expertly mixed sets that keep the crowds moving and visuals that keep all the senses entertained. The duo has played major festivals around the world, and those large-scale venues seem to be pushing their live-show ambitions ever larger.

The Chemical Brothers in Concert

Childhood classmates Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons began their journey into music in 1992, when the pair DJed as the Dust Brothers in clubs around Manchester, England. Their first self-released single, "Song to the Siren," was embraced by British techno guru Andrew Weatherall, who signed them to his Junior Boy's Own label and re-released "Siren." The pair worked their way through the UK music scene, touring the world and playing club nights frequented by Oasis' Noel Gallagher and the Charlatans' Tim Burgess. A legal squabble led to them changing their name to The Chemical Brothers in 1995, which was also the year they released their debut Exit Planet Dust. That album, which blended big beat and house with other strains of popular UK club music, was a critical smash (U2's The Edge even name-checked it as his favorite album of the year). 1997's Dig Your Own Hole was the band's worldwide breakthrough, with the pulsing "Block Rockin' Beats" and the buzzing "Setting Sun," which featured Gallagher's drawl, dominating MTV and radio. Surrender, which contained the psychedelia-tinged Bobby Gillespie collaboration "Out of Control" and the Gallagher-fronted fantasia "Let Forever Be," followed in 1999. In the years since, the Brothers have released albums beloved by dance-music aficionados like 2010's high-concept Further and 2019's idea-stuffed No Geography, redrawing the boundaries of modern electronic music and upping their artistic quotient with each passing year.

    Best in the biz!

Not my first time traveling for Chemical Brothers! And worth it all! Super friendly crowd, Tom and Ed are at the top of their game, great stage show, sound was on point, and some great mixes of all the catalog of bangers!

Chemical Brothers - So Fun, Such Great Energy

    by 1thousandwattz on 4/22/23WAMU Theater - Seattle

The talent, energy exchange between the guys and the audience, the giant robots on stage, confetti canyons and enormous ballons we batted above us lke beachballs - all of these elements made for a joyous, show. I met a mother (my age - late 40's/early 50's) with her teenage daughter - both smiling and dancing and rockin' out. As I scanned the audience, I saw diversity and everyone dancing, and just thought, "Wow, if we could only bottle this goodness and hand it out to everyone" - the world would be a happier place. So happy for the Chemical Brothers' success and ongoing release of great EDM!

    The Brothers Are BACK!

    by scotch-PDX on 4/22/23WAMU Theater - Seattle

Great Venue and space. The Brothers came back with intensity and showed how their talent can definitely work it out! Bass like none other on earth and an audio-visual sensory show to great beats that cannot be beat! Block Rocking the PAC-NW, the drive up from PDX was well worth it!

    Incredible show

    by CM91 on 4/21/23WAMU Theater - Seattle

This was easily my favorite time seeing the Chemical Brothers. They seemed to be having just as much fun as the crowd, and the energy in the venue was incredible the whole time. Getting into the show was very quick and easy. The visuals and sound were both incredible.

    Woah

by Erin on 4/21/23WAMU Theater - Seattle

I was so looking forward to hearing a classic favorite of mine! The music did not disappoint. It got me moving from the first beat drop! Opened with my second favorite of theirs. Closed with my all time favorite if theirs. The light show was super impressive. My personal opinion about mid way through was it for a little dark for my tastes. My solution was to close my eyes and just feel the music instead of watching. The volume was louder than any other concert I have ever been to. It solidified my decision to buy earplugs for any other concerts I attend. My group could not hear each other for the rest of the night after leaving…temporary hearing loss is real.

    Chemical Bros

by Superfly on 5/20/19Bill Graham Civic Auditorium - San Francisco

Music and Sound from the Chemical Bros were great. Spectacular concert with an incredible array of stage effects too. The Robot stage props with Laser eyes were my absolute favorite. Great venue too. Only thing the act could have done better was to add side screens to the show for the people who were sitting on the side stage areas. You could only see a portion of the rear effects screen from these points.
