LOUDER THAN LIFE FESTIVAL:

Louisville’s Louder than Life festival kicks off its inaugural event on October 4 and 5 at Champions Park on the city's Ohio River waterfront. The weekend's heavy-hitting lineup include Judas Priest, Kid Rock, and Korn, but electrifying performances aren't the only in store. In addition to two star-studded days of music, the festival boasts a Whiskey history tour by Jack Daniels, a Germantown presented by Jagermeister, and an interactive exhibit hosted by Crazy Dave's Music Experience. Between the bands, the celebrity chef-curated food offerings, and the riverfront atmosphere, Louder than Life promises to be an unforgettable festival experience for fans of all ages.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Louder than Life is the brainchild of Danny Wimmer, a festival organizer who created the event to highlight Louisville's vibrant rock scene and reputation as "the culinary capital of Bourbon Country". Louisville's bountiful food and drink scene share center stage with some of the world's most acclaimed rock acts over the course of the two-day festival, which includes special installations by Jack Daniels, Jagermeister, and numerous celebrity and local chefs. Situated along the Ohio River in the city's verdant Champions Park, Louder than Life promises to bring together numerous culinary and musical traditions in one unforgettable weekend of music, food, and fun.

Louder Than Life lineup details and ticketing packages are under wraps for now, but you can start making your plans to be in Louisville thanks to the announcement of the new dates. Additional details for the 2018 Louder Than Life festival will be announced in late spring.

    Sound issues

    by Sean on 9/27/22

Flew from DC to see this. Disappointed that sound problems plagued the show all weekend including the final shows by bands including Red Hot Chili Peppers. Felt bad for Tetrarch and Incubus who lost sound substantially. Great appreciation for these bands that did their best. RHCP, who I especially came for, cut their set by twenty minutes.

    Very disappointed

    by Katie on 10/21/21

I purchased 2 tickets and was unable to attend because we were unvaccinated and they will not give me back my money. I have emailed them and tried to call them but the email address on there sight is wrong and they say they aren’t excepting phone calls. Over $700.00 down the drain that is just wrong. I will be reporting them

    Louder Thanife Review

by Robert on 9/27/21Highland Festival Grounds at KY Expo Center - Louisville

I purchased the VIP package. There was not enough seating in the VIP area. I think it would help also to have aisles in front of tge two main stages to help direct oeople out of the crowd to the restrooms and food areas. Overall I had a great time and enjoyed the music.

The first day was cold and windy. But the second day was much warmer and enjoyable. The food was just as remarkable as the bands. Something for every hardcore rock enthusiasts.

    One stacked line up

by Ridern on 10/20/14Champions Park - Louisville

The line up for Louder Than Life was unbelievable, the only only thing that I didn't like was how Kid Rock closed. He is not considered Hard Rock to me, he is more like rap and country.

Great event. Had great bands. The addition of the great food (barbeque) put it over the top. Add the different whiskies and Bourbon was a plus add also. Will be going again

Great Concept!!! Good Food, Drink & Rock!!!

    by RockerGirl72 on 10/17/14Champions Park - Louisville

Since it was the first Louder Than Life Festival I'm not judging to harshly.....The hotel was great except for the lack of free or inexpensive transportation to and from the show. Shuttles of some sort would be a nice touch for the hotel packages. LOVED the food trucks.....reasonable prices and decent variety. Could use more sweets though. Drinks & Alcohol were very reasonably priced and lines moved quickly. Really cool to learn how bourbon & whiskey is made, mixed & drank! Security was great.....no major incidents occurred. SHOW WAS GREAT!!! Was able to see all 3 stages but kinda of tough to choose which stage to get close to when so many good bands. Can't wait to see the line-up for next year....and if it does happen, maybe think about more interactivity (more activities for people between sets)

    Louder than Life

by jprjon on 10/15/14Champions Park - Louisville

What a great first year for an annual festival! Loved all the food and drink options, although I am not sure that paying extra for Vip was worth it. I look forward to both Rock on the Range and Louder than Life next year.
