OUR STORY
How one letter changed the course of the wine world forever
In 1972, The Sunday Times published an exposé on dishonest wine labelling among some major wine merchants. It caught the eye of Tony Laithwaite, who for years had been bringing back authentic French wines to share with UK friends. It was a moment that lead to the creation of The Wine Club … and now Club members enjoy discoveries from every corner of the earth.
THE WINE CLUB IS FOUNDED
The letter strikes a chord with readers, and The Sunday Times approaches Tony about setting up a wine club.
FAST FORWARD TO TODAY
50 years later, our mission is the same. To protect the interests of a wine-loving readership and bring you authentic wines from around the world.
