I REALLY wanted to like this, but it’s a terrible vacuum because of a lot of reasons. So I bought this vacuum at the end of February, because I liked Hoover items and thought this would be awesome. I liked the idea of swiveling the brush head, being able to detach the canister in order to easily vacuum in small tight spaces, and most importantly the technology of the vacuum being able to automatically sense the floor type. So when it’s on carpet, the vacuum will read and display carpet and the brush roll will turn on. When your are on hardwood, the vacuum will display hardwood and the brush will turn off. It would make vacuuming so much easier. So I ordered it, set it up and it worked like a charm the first day. I vacuumed the whole apartment, and was amazed by how quite the vacuum sounded. When I went to empty the dustbin, I noticed the dust and hair collected at the top and required me to take it apart to fully clean it. This was annoying, but wasn’t too terrible. Well, the next week I went to vacuum my bedroom when the brush roll stopped and the vacuum displayed a red message saying “Brush Roll” I immediately thought something was caught and turned it over. There was nothing there but a small amount of hair. I didn’t know what the problem was, so I just pulled the few strands that was there. It worked like normal. I should have saw this as a red flag and returned it, but I thought it was just a hiccup. So I threw away the box... I wish I hadn’t. The vacuum is now a month old, it got used maybe three times before today, and now it’s not working like it should. I started to vacuum when the I noticed the brush roll wasn’t on. I looked to see what was displayed, and the FloorSense was reading hardwood even though I was on carpet. I turned off the vacuum and looked under the brush head again. There was nothing there, again! So I turned it back on and it read hardwood. I went onto hardwood and pushed it on to carpet thinking that would trigger the sensor and switch to carpet. Which it did, only for a split second or two before returning to hardwood. Fortunately for me, there’s a switch where I can turn off the FloorSense and it will turn on the brush roll. So I vacuumed without the FloorSense on, which leads me to believe this switch was made because Hoover may know that the vacuum does this. I still tired to get the FloorSense to read carpet but it doesn’t. I’m appalled by the fact they can charge SO much money for a vacuum with technology that doesn’t work. I would have never spent so much on this, and I wish they would just come to my apartment and pick it up. I regret purchasing it, and now when I look at it... just makes me mad.Read full review

We bought an older model and it’s not as good as this new one. Easy to assemble and use. I like the swiveling part during operation. Like the floor sense technology. Cleans better than my old Hoover upright.

It works perfectly so far. I like it on the stars, and it's great on my pool table. Oh, and it picks up everything on my dark blue carpet also! We are very happy with it.

an exceptional upright with the floorsense feature no need to switch back and forth and to have a gentle brush action sweep on a hard floor inlieu of just having the brush off is a God send ....in a house of hardwood and tile and carpet ....money well spent ..always a hoover
