Plant based protein shakes

Found these on sale and thought I’d give them a try. Chilled for 24 hours and was excited to try one. So disappointed! Chalky and bitter tasting! I’m giving 2 stars strictly based on 20g of protein. Will be donating the other 3 cartons.

Customer service is really bad. My fault that I didnt notice the wrong shipping address, but as soon as I hit submit and noticed, I emailed custmer service about the issue. It is over 30 hours later now and still no response. The product was shipped yesterday and will be sent to the wrong address.

I have been using this product for a year now. I love this product. It is very filling. Delicious, healthy, I drink it every morning. I use almond milk sugar free or skim milk. Hard to find sometimes though.

Love the Mocha, hate hate hate opening a new one.

The product I have been using is the Frosty Peppermint Mocha. I find the taste to be fine, with no weird or unpleasant aftertaste. For those wrinkling their nose at peppermint, this isn't very peppermint. Mildly Minted Mocha might be a better name for it. I have used a couple of different portable blenders to make the shakes in and find the powder blends just fine, even in the lower-powered blender. Allergic to dairy, I use almond 'milk'. Contents settle during shipping and when sitting on the shelf, and Purely Inspired protein powders are no different. Except to find the container looking nearly half empty when you first open it. If you can get it open. This is my big gripe. I use several brands of protein powder and collagen, and have no problem opening any of them when they are brand new and need to be opened for the first time. I'm in my 70s, have arthritis in both of my small hands. It is torture trying to wrest these containers open the first time. At first, the lid makes it through a couple of not too difficult turns, but then it apparently gets hung up on the multi-layer stiff paper cover glued to the top of the cannister. Since I don't have handy neighbors I can ask, I have to struggle through it, using foam/silicone grippers and bracing the cannister against my chest, taking a couple of minutes at least to get the darned thing open. Other reviewers have mentioned it and reviewers have agreed with it. PI, you really need to do something. Given how much the product settles, there is no reason for the cannisters to be so wide. They could easily be made smaller in diameter without needing to add height. Your customers aren't all 20-something ham fisted body builders, so please design your packaging accordingly. Speaking of settling, one of the 1 star reviews I read complained about the container being half empty when they received it. Not empty, just settled. When (finally!) opened and the powder fluffed back up when digging through it with a spoon to find the scoop, the level rises to about 3/4 full...which is why I think the cannister diameter can be made smaller without needing to add height. I have bought this product from a couple of different sellers including Amazon. These are marked on the product's Amazon web page as "Sold by Amazon / Shipped by Amazon". Another 1 star review ordered theirs from Amazon and it came "half empty", which I've already addressed, and said it came without a label. My own experience has been that every cannister has a label that nearly completely encircles the cannister and is fully glued on. Some years ago, PI used shrink-wrapped labels that could be removed once they were cut into. Maybe they are shrink-wrapping again? That I don't know first hand. Since cases of the products sold by Amazon and stocked by Amazon to fulfill orders (including those placed through Purely Inspired's Amazon Storefront), it's possible that the label application step of the manufacturer's production line glitched resulting in one or more cannisters ending up without labels. It should have been caught on the PI end by some part of the inspection process, but also at the Amazon end when the product was picked from the shelf for that order. (Then again, we know how harried Amazon employees are to meet picking quotas, so...) Anyway, I like the product, will continue to buy it, and will continue to complain to PI about their cannister diameter and the near impossibility of frail elderly arthritic (yet fiercely independent!) hands opening new cannisters.

Good Protein!

I drank my last one today but they were so good! Very low in calories at 150 per bottle but had a complete source of protein and didn’t have any added sugar! Would definitely recommend.
