Company information

Experience Broome’s working pearl farm. An epic story; the original Australian owned and operated pearl farm spans four generations of the Brown Family over more than 70 years. Until recently, it has been an exclusive pearling village accessible only to our pearl farm team and the local Bardi people. In an industry first, Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm “opened the gate” and invited travellers to share in this very special place, recently described as “one of the most unique destinations in Australia”. 200 km north of Broome, on the tip of the Dampier Peninsula, the farm’s remote location gives visitors a unique Kimberley Coast experience. Easily visited on day trips by road, air or sea or for the full experience, choose to immerse yourself in this stunning and remote location by staying a night or two on the farm in a genuine pearling shack, glamping safari tent or campgrounds. You still need a 4WD to access the accommodation side of the property. Explore the iconic destinations of Cape Leveque, the Buccaneer Archipelago, Horizontal Waterfalls and Cygnet Bay Pearl farm all from the tip of the beautiful Dampier Peninsula.

Property information

Our accommodation is situated just under a kilometer from the main farm village, reception and restaurant in our Divers Creek accommodation area. YOU NEED A 4WD IF YOU ARE STAYING WITH US AS THE TRACK IS UNSEALED AND SANDY. We offer a wide range of accommodation from camping and caravan sites to safari tents and Pearler’s shacks. We offer a great remote location to experience life on the Kimberley Coast in this pure historical environment. The coastline is varied and interesting, changing with the tidal movements. Mangroves turn into tidal creeks and rocky points offering fresh oysters and great spots for fishing, small sandy beaches are the perfect beachcombing location and our bush tracks offer great bird watching and secluded hideaways. Due to our remote location, there is limited Telstra service and no WiFi available in our accommodation.

Neighbourhood information

Section 67 of the Remote Communities Direction, visitors are NOT PERMITTED to enter any of the Aboriginal Communities on the Dampier Peninsula, even by accident. Fines are in place for unauthorised entry. This includes One Arm Point and Djarindjin/Lombadina.
