I would like this answer too.  Saying 17x15 is not giving square footage sine this tent is NOT SQUARE.  I don't know how to figure square footage on an octagon.  Someone better versed in math would have to, but it would not be the same as 255 sq. feet. It would be less.  Closer to 200 probably would be my guess.

What are the actual measurements of the tent?

Hi, Leslie. I don&#39;t know how tall the front door on this tent is, but I enjoy camping and you sound like a real rough-it kind of girl. HMU and we can go camping together. I already have a tent, so we&#39;d be good, and the front opening is pretty big, in case you are a larger-type lady and that&#39;s why you were asking about the door.  No matter how big you are, I can roll you in, trust me. Seriously, HMU soon. Let&#39;s camp.

Its about 5 foot 9 inches to the ground from the very top point of the opened awning. The front door entry is about 4 foot 10 inches.

Absolutely love this tent.
We're going camping next month so I had to get a new tent and I figured I get a new nice one.
This tent came fast and was super easy for one person to put up. And even easier to put away. Definitely can't wait to put it to use

Definitely worth the money

this is really a great TENT ! it's huge, it's roomy, we did use Scotchgard waterproofing on the rainfly and the tent, I didn't spray the windows, we got rain light rain heavy rain, and it did leak in through the screen on the window but nothing that a paper towel or washcloth wouldn't clean up. extremely easy to set up, less than a minute it was up, takes a little bit longer to fold it up and put it in the bag, about 2 minutes. and yes it fits back in the bag! yes I would recommend it to a friend family. also we had a little bit of wind no issues at all, I think the other reviews that said the tent collapsed ,? they just didn't have it set up correctly , if it's set up correctly it is a wonderful tent. it has two doors, the main door where you have the poles, if you will just pull them out away from the tent instead of putting it into the pins,it's high enough for a tall person to walk under ,I know there was complaints in other reviews about this issue but that is an easy fix if you're a bit taller just adjust the poles, it raises it up a bit higher.it really nice ,to take the rain fly off ,and view God's creation! over the decades I've owned several tents and I have to say this is an awesome tent. don't hesitate to buy, and happy happy camping!

great tent! easy easy to set up!!!!

Tent is spacious. I fit 4-5 cots around the edges and plenty of room in the middle to move around and play games if the weather is bad. Easy to set up by myself and put away by myself. I thought it would be impossible to get it back in the bag, but it fit no problem. The only down side I saw is that if it's windy, the tent has trouble staying up, so you just need to be cognizant of this and use something like a car to block the wind or stake it down well.

This tent was very easy to set up and take down. It also comes with an expandable bag so everything fits back into it nicely! The tent itself is very spacious. We have only used it in the backyard but looking forward to actually camping.

Great tent!

This tent was super fast and easy to put up. Nice and roomy. The patio overhang is nice. The hexagon style leaves plenty of space for all your stuff without feeling cluttered. There is a front door and a back door, which is nice, but the door design leaves something to be desired. The door with the overhang does not have a way to close unless you take down and close the overhang. Otherwise it's just an open screen with no privacy. Wish we could leave the overhang up and close the door so there's more privacy than just a screen. Having to take the overhang down every-time you want to change in the tent kinda sucked. Haven't tested it in the rain yet.

I adore this tent. Ideal for glamping! Super easy set up, lots of room. You can really make this homey!!! We fit a giant king sized air mattress with tons of room for chairs and duffel bags and coolers. I didn't give five because we camped in afield with high winds and the fly was ripped off but I DID NOT tie it down properly so make sure you do that. It collapsed twice but we were able to just push it back up from inside and it popped back in place. Wind gusts were 15-25 mph.

Fantastic, caution for a windy area

I do not see a large difference in size between the 8 and the 11 person tent but there are a couple differences. 1) there are two doors. One is a double door but does not have a fabric covering the screen. Instead the awning covers the doors when collapsed. Although the awning is a nice feature I was not impressed that it can only be a screen door when the awning is erected. 2) there are two floor vents vs the one in the 8 person model. I was indifferent of this feature. We just had a rain storm last night and the floor is pretty darn waterproof, but the seams leave something to be desired. I have several small puddles around the edge particularly around the windows and doors. It sets up quickly and easily, but between the two doors and the defective seams I can only recommend 3 stars. With that being said if there is no rain and you remove the rain fly the views can be amazing at night.

Similar construction to most current instant tents

Collapsed in the wind the first night. Tried tying extra lines. Collapsed in the wind the second night and flooded. Yes, I followed the instructions. No, the poles up top don't snap into place around the circles. My friend who has a smaller version thinks I got a dud, so I was going to order a new one and return this one.  This week, the joints keep flipping the wrong was as I'm trying to set up.  Then one of the joints completely snapped.  This is literally my home the next two weeks and I don't have another option!

When I got it McGyvered, I did it by adding 6 more ties - one per leg. That was the only way it stayed up the last 2 weeks.  I guess I'll be rebuilding the joint with duct tape this week but it isn't going to handle the move well next week like that.  Definitely, definitely returning it but have to survive 2 more weeks first.

one disaster after another

Love this tent, however we only got two camping nights in before it broke.  Also- although it goes up well and is simple, it is only dependable in perfect conditions. Any wind and you're in trouble.
