A trip tp a beautiful place! Transcendent !

by AJ on 12/19/22Teragram Ballroom - Los Angeles

Every musician in this band is highly skilled and very creative. They have a synergy that makes their music more than the sum of their individual playing. There is also an emotional intimacy and beauty to their music which touches me deeply.

    title

by bigmike on 8/6/19Theatre of Living Arts - Philadelphia

The band was killer. The venue not so much. In the past we have been able to grab a short rest on the couches upstairs. Apparently due to low ticket sales the upstairs was open only to VIP which for the price of the upgrade was a rip off. Not the best experience for a 70 year old with 2 total knee replacements. We were compelled to leave at intermission. Will probably cross TLA off our list of venues.

    Amazing performers!

by RichSad on 5/22/19Paradise Rock Club presented by Citizens Bank - Boston

I'm a fan of Tom Hamilton from his work in JRAD. Ghost Light had just released a new album called Best Kept Secret that I really liked. Going into the show I had high expectations based on the album and youtube videos. They exceeded my expectations. This was a general admission SRO show in Paradise Rock Club in Boston, MA. Ghost Light performed with two one-hour+ sets. The audio was loud and well mixed. I was standing in the front on the rail near guitarist Tom Hamilton. Tom is a very entertaining guitar player. He opened the show saying how we must be the 300 people in Boston who don't like Boston Bruin hockey since there was a Stanley Cup playoff game going on. From there they band lifted off. Tom took us to many places with his guitar. At points he and the band channeled Jerry Garcia, Pink Floyd, Tom Morello, Allman Brothers. They weaved through this different feels as they payed tribute to their influences. Tom looks like he's having fun up there. Each band member shined in their own light throughout the show. Raina did a good percentage of the vocals and was a good guitarist to accompany Tom. Holly was subdued for much of the first set but popped off towards the end of the set and delivered a soaring solo. But the biggest surprise for me was how tight and tasty the rhythm section performance was. The bass and drum deliver a powerful beat that shaped the intensity of the songs as they flowed through their extended jams. If you like the jam band thing, this band is absolutely for you. Even if you aren't typically into the jam band scene there's no denying this band has solid original material and knows how to light up a concert hall.
