This was probably the best gift for the grandparents. Now they can easily brisk through facebook photos from their favorite people...an unexpected surprise! Once a week or so, they listen to Pandora and watch the photos together. It's great for keeping them up to date for anything they missed on their facebook timelines. There is a small learning curve but nothing like trying to get them to use facebook directly on an apple or PC. This system streamlines the experience and gives them exactly what they want to see without the extra features and software that really only complicates everything for them. The video quality is top notch! This has already bridged the gap that a phone call could not. Now they're bragging to their neighborhood and Church. Good times :)

After many months of trouble with the connection and inability to reset the device, I emailed Facebook about the issues to no avail..still no response and refer you to a blog. I've reached out to them 1 month before manufacture warranty ended, they didn't help or respond, it's now the new year and my manufacture warranty is over. Tbh, That was FB goal to ignore me as the warranty would soon be expired. I'll never support anything from Facebook ever again. This useless item sits on counter with dark screen only and stays loading and flickering, not to mention does other buggy things like turns on Mic or Cam out of nowhere without me doing anything. This device was well taken care of and never dropped or abused. I'm extremely unhappy I wasted $700 for two of these devices. I'm not materialistic and barely on FB, I did it so we can gather on portal as bro just moved north with new baby. Turned out to be a $700 headache entire time. Thanks Facebook for ignoring my inquiries and warranty.

Wow is all I can say! Our family is a HUGE fan of the new Facebook Portal and Portal +. My boys and I haven’t stopped using it since we plugged it in! I’ll be honest, I don’t use Facebook a ton, I mostly use Instagram to push all my posts to Facebook, and I will login a couple times a week to see what’s going on…but now, I feel like Facebook has completely changed the game with the Portal and Portal +. My favorite feature has to be the smart camera which literally follows you around as you move through the room! Now if you are anything like our family, getting two boys under 4 to sit still and talk for any given period of time is basically impossible, so this feature is incredible! I also love that the camera can get super wide if there are multiple people in frame, or focus in, if it’s just a one-on-one conversation. Some other amazing features are that it has Amazon Alex Built-in, it can display photos as well as show you videos from your Facebook friends, you can also listen to your favorite music through apps like Pandora, Spotify and iHeart Radio. I have to say the number of options, outside of calling people and watching videos on Facebook, is a bit limited for now but I have to assume they will be adding more and more apps as time goes one. One thing I also love is you can bring up to six other people into a group call, hence why I think this maybe my go to Christmas Present this year.

If you’re like my family, you live just far enough apart that you don’t see each other very often. Now, with Facebook Portal, you can be miles away but together in the same room! The Facebook Portal take Facetime Video messaging to a whole new level! My niece is expecting her 2nd baby and we can’t wait to use the Facebook Portal to see that new baby and catch up on how the big brother is doing. She may be in Alabama, but it won’t seem like it! I’ve been using my Portal with another blogger friends and we have been having lots of fun! I don’t think I’ll ever be happy with regular Facebook Video Chat anymore!

It is more like actually being with one another, almost as though you are in the same room, even when you are many miles away from one another. Portal has a smart camera that moves around with you. You can continue to do whatever it was when you connected with another person. The camera will follow you so that you don’t pop in and out of view. The camera will automatically widen to capture more people as they enter the room, making it easy to connect with more than just one person at a time. The sound is smart as well. Portal enhances the voice of the person who is speaking through a microphone that cancels out much of the background noise. When you are not making a video call Portal can display your Facebook photos and videos. You can also ask Portal to fill the room with your favorite music through its powerful hi-fi speaker system. Overall, the Facebook Portal

We haven’t had this long but it’s really fun. It came as part of a blogger campaign, but we have been enjoying the communication features with friends and family a lot! We are excited to keep using it especially through the holidays! The other features seem decent. Video clarity is excellent. Some of the Facebook watch videos aren’t super kid friendly so we will either be diligent while the kids use it or look into how to set up parental controls. I see some negative comments about the Alexa features, and to be honest, I am quite confident those will come in time. Be patient!! Our Portal has already updated since we started using it so I’m sure that as time goes by and more consumers are using these Portals, that Alexa features will work more and more smoothly. The only con I have found is what someone else noted- and it’s not a con so much as an annoyance. The verification code seems to be popping up every time you want to change or adjust something so hopefully that’s in an update soon to fix that.

The great thing about Portal is it helps you stay connected. Easy to set up and get going right out of the box. Love that Alexa is integrated with it, and my kids do too. The Superframe is great for those photos that usually just end up in albums on Facebook, never to be seen again. The smart camera is fun and a great alternative to reminding kids to stay in the frame. :) Would love to see - and maybe I just haven't figured it out yet - a way to mute Portal but still use Alexa. (It's a curious kid thing)

I bought this to be able to communicate visually with my daughter and mother who both live out of state. It works great and the picture is very clear and sound works very good also. I only wish I could snap pictures and video with it. Since I can't I have used my phone to do so. I've bought 3 altogether and my two family members whom I bought them for love it also. It's nicer using it instead of my phone because it's bigger and you don't have to hold it while you're talking. The picture also moves around the room if the person is moving around. If mine were to break, I'd buy it again. I'd also buy the bigger one out of the models they have. I'd definately recommend this product.

I bought this portal so I could talk to my daughter and grandchildren that haven’t been able to see for 3 months. Not disappointed! Works great, very large screen so I can see them well, also love that can turn screen to see long or sideways. picture quality is great and love that I can have all my photos showing when not using, they also look great. Sound Quality also is very good, big speaker, woofer etc. music sound good can adjust bass to taste, And gets loud! Only thing wish had more of would be if alexa could do more and more choices of apps but overall i love it! Recommend.

I bought this product to try the functionality and now I'm convinced at all. My parents and my in-laws have the small version and it's really funny and enjoyable to videochat with them at distance (they all live in Mexico). When I have regular videochat using just Facebook Messenger on the other party, the experience is great. The camera follow up mode is terrific! I'm fully satisfied with the product. The sound is amazing and Alexa works great (although some functionality is missing). I'm eager to get the new functionalities where you can videoconf with whatsapp contacts.

The FB portal is amazing. It makes my wife and I everyday communication needs easier to attain. I also love the fact that you can use it as a music device. The sound quality is astounding and the video tech is uncanny. My only issue with this device is you are limited on what apps are accessible on it. I would like to be able to use zoom on it along with some other apps. Other than that I would definitely recommend this product for anyone looking for communication to be made easy for themselves.

We’ve had our Facebook Portal+ for a day and already love it. We also have a HomePod and Google Home downstairs, with other smart home hubs throughout our home. The 15” high resolution screen is beautiful and the audio is load and full of bass. The addition of YouTube makes for a great kitchen cooking assistant and showing videos to guests. We love using the Portal+ for Facebook Messenger calls and not having to stay in one place, as the camera intelligently follows you around the room. Alexa integration works as it should, but we’re looking forward to Google Assistant support in an upcoming update.

Used it for 2 months and it has been the best video-calling experience with my family. It really is like what they advertised, tracks faces, great video and audio. I used both Amazon's Alexa Show and Spot, but the camera and functions on the Portal really takes video-calling much more enjoyable. Available apps on the Portal is limited, and you can't search for songs in the Spotify app; I didn't get Portal for the applications.

Video quality is great (fisheye lens)

Video is probably the best I've seen for calls, the Portal uses a fisheye lens which makes the center of the video pop out - while the background (off center) is deemphasized optically - so with their centering algorithm to track your movement, along with the fisheye lens to pull you forward... the impression is a lot like being in the room with someone. For a FB product, it was startlingly good video... none of the tablet or phone calls even compare. I upgraded the Portal firmware recently (over WiFi), now it seems entirely compatible with the applications that are available - the shipped firmware from a year prior was buggy... some of the apps wouldn't respond to touch, now all of that is gone - everything works as expected. Since the virus restrictions - the WebEx, GoToMeeting, and Zoom apps work great (Skype still doesn't work, can't seem to access Portal video or microphone)... if anyone is interviewing for a job over video - I can't imagine for the price, that video quality gets much better than the Portal. :)
