I purchased this vacuum because we were no longer in need of a traditional vacuum since we have no carpet in our new house. I've always been an Oreck fan so I thought this vacuum would be the way to go. It has great suction and the cord is super long which means you can go a long way before having to switch outlets. It has a shoulder strap making it easy to carry around and makes you feel like a Ghostbuster too. It comes with two bags so ordering refills is not an immediate concern. You can just take it out of the box and go to town. There's lots of great attachments to meet all of your needs. Just a great little vacuum!

Great little vacuum!

When my Oreck canister vac finally died in its 19th yr of faithful service I panicked. Where could I get another like ASAP? I have 5 dogs and HAVE to vacuum daily.

WalMart to the rescue!! Great price and fast delivery--3 days later it was here.

I am beyond delighted, WalMart has its problems, but they came thru for me when I needed them.

Works superbly - all sorts of accessories. Missing nothing. Appearance could be improved although that would not affect the high performance of this device.

Satisfied my Needs 100%

Lighter than I expected and cleans beautifully. I don't like vacuums or vacuuming because it always feels like a major hassle and frustration. So far this one has not left me frustrated and has been convenient to use. The cord is ultra long and allows for more time vacuuming and not having to move the plug from room to room.  Also, being able to carry it makes it mush easier to use in my small 5th wheel.

Convenient vacuum

We bought this canister to avoid carrying our old Oreck canister back and forth btw two locations. Our old Oreck canister (an older model) has lasted us at least 11 years and is still going strong. We use all of the attachment and, unless we want to vacuum a large thick carpet, this is our preferred vac for its mult-functionality and portability.

About the way the extension tubes connect: The trick to attaching the tubes and attachments is to TWIST them in, and not just push in (an Oreck person showed us this years ago). This model here has an improved mechanism that locks the tubes (though not the attachments). Though occasionally the pieces do detach when we vigorously scrub a surface, we have not been troubled by that. If you see how powerful this little machine is, you may not be troubled by that either.

Excellent product-powerful, portable, and durable

I used the vacuum to clean closets, ceilings, sofas, edging and corners of wall to wall rooms and stairs with rugs. I found it easy to understand instructions and the machine has a powerful suction. The strap was helpful in carrying the vacuum around different areas of the house including bare floors.

Good canister vacuum for light weight use.

I am recommending this vacuum only because I had its predecessor and I loved it. Super easy to change the bags, great suction, lightweight and you can use a scented filter in it if you prefer. It's a good little vacuum. Gave it 4 stars cause it lasted approximately 5 years. Thought it was worth it to get another one. Comes with good attachments. Oreck is an excellent brand.

Its predecessor was a great vacuum

This handy vac has great suction. I use it as a handy and more portable shop vac. While it wont handle wet messes, I can overlook it given how well it tackles all other messes. I also use this in my RV since it is small and easy to store but works well to pick up dirt and sand that always finds its way into an RV.

Replaced the thin oem shoulder strap with a strap from a Targus computer case; wider and more comfortable.
Reinforced strap attachment points with Gorilla tape...ready to go!

Oreck Sucker Mods

I've owned 4 Oreck vacuums and this model is a big disappointment. The hose is so short that when I move my arm to vacuum, the hose bends at both ends so much that suction is cut off and it makes a squeal noise. I'm going to have to buy a hose meant for another model.
