Three squirts unveil the full octave of the pleasant citrusy notes. A touch of honey sweetens this otherwise tartish sensation.

OTA Mom

Mostly honey with minimal orange. The honey is not so sweet and mixed with dry herbs and grasses, powdery and potpourri-like.

SpiderMarc

Love the gorgeous bottle so I just had to have it!
The scent is alright but there are plenty of Jo Malone fragrances that are much more enticing.

The Mandarin is there and the honey is also quite prominent so I feel that makes it more on the sweeter more unisex to female scent profile.
If you like Mandarin then I highly recommend their ‘Bitter Mandarin’.

cyclone1391

This is quite strong on me. Very fruity and spicy. Has a potpourri quality to it. I can see this being unisex.

relw

Fresh clean scent, but definetly only for females

Starlid Orange & Honey, as its name.
The orange is like starlid because it come and go so fast, it fast becoming honey and waxy feel.
(Also, sort of creamy) orange to turn to sugar side of thing. I don’t think this wear nicely alone.

What I find perfect for this, is layering as topper layer for sweet scent of Jo Malone (Rose & Oud, Midnight musk & Amber) it add honey with fruity-citrus nuance to the scent, make it become deeper and fresher at the same time.

It helps other offering stay on sweeter side of thing while add a freshie touch to overall tone of other cologne.

Perfect addition to my Jo Malone collection, the scent alone wear 5 hrs. With intimate projection.

Update 1 : layer guide

I layer with Velvet Rose & Oud last night and It is very wonderful.
I add addtional layer to Velvet rose & oud, it almost have marigold undertone to my nose, addictive. will rewear soon.

Layer with Midnight Musk & Amber was alright, It is muskier and a bit waxy. It quite nice.
But do not very difference from Midnight musk & Amber alone.
Apply starlid brfore midnight is better resulting in sparking musk.
will wear again.

English oak & Hazelnut.. kinda lemonade-like interesting combo

Moomi

Was looking forward to trying this one but unimpressed. Very poor longevity. Didn’t get much honey, just orange. Dry down was straight musk. Disappointing.

Trianna78

I pick up the mandarin notes, but there is also something heavy and powdery in this perfume. I tend to go for citrus because I prefer light/fresh perfumes but this is not it.

Digfigs

Powdery sweet mandarin with amber, hay and spice. Fragrantica's fragrance notes shown above is not complete.

According to Jo Malone's website:

Top notes: sweet mandarin, cedrat, star anise
Heart notes: honey, hay, geranium
Base notes: coumarin, peru balsam, holy grass

Edit: after maceration for 9 months, it lasted more than 8 hours on my skin. This one definitely needs PROPER maceration to perform properly! Oh and i suspect many people became anosmic to it FAST having sprayed too much and smelled it for too long and up close their noses, that resulted in their dismal experiences of abject performance. The performance of this perfume for me is definitely satisfactory after maceration for 9 months!

Citrus oil opening reveals a peircing honeysuckle heart. Too sweet, too floral, too much thick beeswax, nothing bright, tart, or fresh. A heavy, headache inducing, syrupy nightmare. Thank goodness these colognes have no lasting power!

Review of official carded sprsy sample that came free with purchase.

CiCiGourmand

A bright and realistic mandarin opening that fades before you even put the bottle away. The entire fragrance is gone in under an hour. Soft and sweet but not too sweet. It just doesn't last and I don't understand why that is when it comes to Jo Malone fragrances?

Updating to suggest Meet Me On The Corner by 4160 Tuesdays. It has a similar vibe with better performance.

PPAN

This started off so beautiful and realistic i was shocked because usually i dont have a high expectation for Jo Malone. The mandarin is so bubbly pulpy and the honey detectable. But then just after 5 minutes it turns into a chemical mess reminiscent of bathroom cleaner, although a very good one. An easy pass for me.

SSBurn

It’s like sparkling slightly fruity bubbles. Like the old school bubbles you would blow as kid. It’s really an uplifting easy going scent.

Kaylovely

I love this! I love beeswax waxy thick scents.. I even like the barbie doll plastic types like antiblues. I also want to try bee from zoologist. The honey here is honeycomb with thick honey goozing out. My skin brings out the honey super thick and rich with the tonka full blast. Light orange initially that becomes creamsickle or mandarin baklava. Hmmm hmmm hmmm strong in the beginning will wear and update. For now it's FB worthy seeing this could be a great everyday scent day or night. Layered with a vanilla or more floral depending on your mood or occasion. Can remind you of bug spray but it's probably Coumarin seeing it's a nite used in many fragrances household, industrial or personal.

blinkadooo

It has a nice and bright opening. Together with a nice packaging and nice visual on marketing, this made me purchase this perfume. Kind of regret it because the nice scent is gone fast, and the drydown smells like an old bar soap.

dcjimr

Who creates these pages? Jo Malone was not the perfumer of this fragrance. She doesn't own the company any more. The perfumer is Yann Vasnier.

colorfulmess

This starts off promising, but turns bathroom cleaner on me. I detect that Jo Malone sagey note that reminds me of Wood Sage and Sea Salt, with a chemically citrus that is unenjoyable to me. Thankfully just had a sample, this is a no buy.

Ms.gwenmarie

Was excited about this new fragrance from Jo Malone, but I was taken aback by the strong bitter citrus notes that borders on a strong alcohol punch all the way back my nostrils. No hint of honey? The outburst of bitter citrus sharpness does go away after 15 minutes or so. Did not enjoy the experience from beginning to dry down in any ways. IMO, Orange Bitters is a better option or even better, Nectarine Blossom for anyone who is willing to spend their hard earn $$.

KladfvbungMicshk

This is beautiful! Mandarin and honey go really well together, I never would have guessed in culinary terms. But they seem to have a similar quality of sweetness, with the slightly tart citrus acting to tone down the magnitude of sweet in the honey. This isn’t cloying at all. It also smells more like beeswax than jarred honey, or honey on the comb, and I feel like that should be added as a note when describing this. It reminds me of a beeswax candle I have with the citrus mixed in. I love it 💛🐝🍊

Edit: it’s been 7 hours and I can still smell it on my skin, though it became a skin scent almost immediately. As it dries down it gets sweeter and less waxy. At some point (and somehow) it starts smelling like Penhaligon’s Juniper Sling but lasts longer. Yum!

Edit edit: it’s been several days and I can still smell it subtly on clothes.

rickyrebarco

I sampled Starlit Mandarin and Honey on 2 separate occasions and I wanted to love it, but I didn't. It's a pleasant, fresh mandarin fragrance, but there's no development at all. I could never really smell the honey note, just some vague sweetness drowning in musk. The scent entirely disappeared within 2 hours on my skin. If you like this type of scent, Jo Malone's Nectarine Blossom and Honey is much better, in my opinion. Jo Malone has many, much better fragrances than this.

Marcjohn86

I got a sample of this when I ordered Ombre Leather, and I just gotta say this is terrific. I think it's totally unisex, and to me it's really similar to like Versace Man Eau Fraiche, I'm getting that vibe but this is just way nicer than that one. I'm not sure if anyone else has the same experience with this, but that's what I get and I almost want to go and get a full bottle right now. I love this and I can't stop smelling my arm.

LadyLoop94

I was really unimpressed by this scent. It doesn't smell like anything special and the longevity/strength of this one was honestly BAD. Orange Bitters is a way better holiday launch.

giesunga

this perfume would blow you away at first sniff and that's it. the scent does not linger at all. I am very disappointed by the longevity of this one.

akoyumi

This smells nearly identical to a previously released fragrance called Tobacco & Mandarin. The only difference is that Starlit Mandarin is a bit more spicy and has WAY less longevity.
I know people dog on Jo Malone colognes for having bad sillage and longevity, but I'd never experienced such until I purchased Starlit Mandarin. It completely vanishes from my skin within 10 minutes. By far the biggest let down, and I am a HUGE long-term Jo fan.
If you're looking to get this cologne based on notes, opt for Tobacco & Mandarin instead.

Frag_di

okay, I own around 10 Jo Malone perfumes and this is going to be the last one. Because at this point it seems to me they disrespect me as a customer and take me for a fool. If this perfume were $20 then it would be a success, but having spent $200 for a bottle, which gets close to a very high niche quality perfume price range, but has no stay power at all is more than disappointing. It is a pleasant citrusy kind of smell that is gone in 10 minutes and can be replaced by any teenage-range eau de cologne. I am aware of the problem Jo Malone has with longevity but this has gone nuts, either make your perfumes more perfume-y or change the price policy. I am enjoying the cute bottle but hate to have sprayed 45 times on the first day to just smell SOMEthing at all.
