Hi everyone! Welcome to Roblox Coding. This live course is designed for students that have some coding experience but are still beginners. This is typical for students with less than 12 months of coding experience. This is a great option for students that have outgrown the short coding camps and want to take a more comprehensive course. This class has coursework that students complete OUTSIDE of classroom time. This can include things such as writing a code or building a basic structure in...
Understanding basic programming concepts: Teach students fundamental programming concepts such as variables and functions. Scripting basics: Teach students how to create and manipulate objects in Roblox using Lua scripting. Debugging: Teach students how to find and fix errors in their code.
Homework Offered
Students are encouraged to practice coding outside of class 1 - 2 hours a week. When practicing, students are encouraged to create their own examples and test of ideas of their own. I will post information in the Outschool classroom for students to work on and practice.1 - 2 hours per week outside of class

You must have experience using Roblox Studio before taking this class. Some coding experience (in any language) is required. Experience using a computer is required.
Roblox Studio can only be used on a Windows or Mac Computer. Unfortunately, Roblox Studio does NOT work on a Google Chromebook, Smartphones, Tablets, or video game consoles. In order to participate in this class, it is required students use a Windows or Mac computer. A computer mouse is strongly encouraged but not required.

Parental Guidance is advised for students under 13 when accessing the internet and when downloading and installing programs such as Roblox Studio. Roblox Studio is a free program that should only be downloaded from the official Roblox site. www.roblox.com/create. Roblox Studio requires a Roblox account. Roblox Studio's toolbox contains premade items that can added into the game environment. The toolbox contains items that may be unsafe for your computer. This class does NOT use or encourage use of the Toolbox.
