I bought this about a month ago for use as a storage shelf for my shoes.  It sits at the front door of my house so i wanted it to be something visibly appealing...  this does the trick!  It holds all my boots/shoes(which I have a lot of). And I even have a basket for mitts, scarves and Toques(which I also have a lot of. Lol)
May purchase another one for storage in my craft room once the construction is done!!

Exactly what I wanted

Product as described and very easy to put together.  It's being used as a bookshelf, basket display at the end of a twin bed creating more storage and a more finished look to the area.  The price was good and delivery was on time, in fact it was a few days earlier than expected.  The color is very dark, expresso which didn't go well with my colors so I painted it.  Looks even better!

Nice storage for small spaces

Pretty easy to put together except they don't tell you a couple of pieces have to be put in the notches in a certain direction so they can be screwed in. Thank goodness I have furniture assembly experience to know don't start screwing things together without checking that ALL holes line up first.

Exactly what I needed

I loved that it took less than half an hour to put together. 
It holds a lot more than I thought it would when I first built it. I saw it and thought it could be a little wobbly and not good for much, but I was so wrong. This is perfect for books and papers I want to put away nice and neat. Also the fact that I can stack things on top without a problem is great.

love my item

I purchased this unit to be displayed in my living room and to be functional. All the the pieces were in the box and there were no missing hardware pieces. 

When I slid the panels out of the box I immediately knew this wasn't going to look well in my living room. While the dark cherry color was very rich and vibrant, the panel pieces looked very cheap. 

It took under 30 minutes to put together and was very simple. The small dowel rods are pretreayed with glue and need moistened to activate the glue. I had no trouble fitting the dowel rods and screws into the pre drilled holes.  

Once completed, I decided this sturdy enough unit would not go well with the overall look of my living room as a display unit. So, I placed it in my entry way to be used for shoes and to stay somewhat out of sight.

Cheaper Look.

I want to give this product a 5 star review, because once I had enough acceptable pieces, the units look great. I ended up having to purchase 6 of these units in order to complete only 2 units. Several boxes arrived so damaged that I could see the broken pieces coming through the packaging. Assembly was simple enough, and I do like that the ClosetMaid brand cube drawers fit perfectly in the slots. Overall, this item makes for a great toy storage.

I bought this for a small space in my living room but didn't want just the boring square shelf.  I like the stair case effect of the shelf and I used it to store my cds and it worked perfectly.  The reason for the 3 stars even though I do not expect much from mdf boards but a few of mine were cracked. I called closet maid and they offered a replacement. Otherwise nice shelf and great price for it!

Mine arrived today damaged :(  It wasn't worth the effort to return it because a) I need it now, and b) shipping a bulky, heavy return is not something I can easily do.
