I searched for a few weeks to find a new computer desk for my home.I was hesitant about buying anything on line because you can not see the product until you own it. I came across this desk and it was just what I was looking for.When it arrived and put it together I was more than happy. This desk and hutch was by far ,the best quality product for the dollar I could find anywhere!

Bought this unit to replace a previous desk that came with the house. Needed a computer & writing desk/hutch combo to fit in a very specific space between a full wall & half-wall corner area. Shopped local furniture stores, online & DIY options. Hidden storage was also crucial because I don’t like clutter. The desk unit went together beautifully; sturdy, attractive & functional. The hutch was like a Jenga puzzle, and took a lot of effort. Luckily we decided to move the desk into position before attaching the hutch; really awkward to try & move it as one unit otherwise. It is a hefty, functional & pleasing piece of furniture. We won’t be moving it anytime soon. One wish is if it had a locking drawer or cabinet, otherwise well worth the money.

I love the look of the desk. But... we received it with 2 broken peices. My husband glued them just so we could use the desk. Requested replacement parts but have trouble getting them to follow up and we have NOT received the parts. The desk was pretty easy to assemble,  but took awhile. I also purchased the matching TV credenza.

I have not written a lot of reviews in my life, but this desk I felt deserved one!  I began my search online for a desk that was less than 58 inches in width. Of all the desks out there that I found, this one was the only desk that fit that criteria; along with being made out of solid wood.  After extensive reading of other reviews and schematics online of how to put this desk together, I purchased it. You should definitely review other websites that also carry this desk to read the comments too. It will help you assemble the desk (and learn why people say certain things when reading the directions).  The desk comes unassembled and mailed using a tracking number. It comes in four parcels -- left tower, right tower, desk (and hutch if you purchase that).  Upon eyesight, you will see that it is made in Thailand.  The packaging is great. Everything is wrapped in foam and cornered with styrofoam. I did not see any scratches what so ever. The total weight of all four units is approximately 270 lbs. The towers are 59 lbs each. The hutch and desk are 75 lbs each. Get your delivery person to bring it into the house if you can and not leave it on the porch!  Before assembly, figure out where you are going to place the unit. Upon completion it weighs a lot! When building the towers (and hutch) have it two feet off the wall. When completed, it will take one really strong person or two people to lift it into place.  The left tower is your pc tower. The drawer is standard with the pc unit going underneath. I have an 11 inch tower so the unit's shelving would not accommodate it with the modem standing side by side. I had to use a power drill, line up the holes and drill four new holes. This is not actually a problem I felt. I kind of liked knowing that it was made of real wood and not particle board so that should you need to drill a hole, you can!   Assembly for the left tower was about 5 minutes to take everything out of the box with another 3-5 minutes unpacking all the sleeves of screws and parts. Construction of the left tower took about 45 minutes and that was at a quicker pace.   Ventilation when assembled and up and running is very poor. Thankfully if you are a constant pc user (or modem user), you can unhinge the door panel. It is not screwed on. Instead it slips onto a rod that is very easy to use and attractive in my opinion.   Additionally, there is one shelf included in the under tower. This is a great place to store paper (legal, standard, etc.). The shelf does not go all the way to the back of the paenl just incase you have multiple cord running throughout the tower and need to use both compartments.  I then went on to build the right tower. This too took 5-8 minutes to get the contents out of the box and another 5 minutes laying pieces out. This one has more wrapping and parts since you have three shelves to build. Assembly took about 65 minutes.   In the right tower, the two standard shelves are deep enough for tray liners if you should want to use them. The lower drawer can be used for standard/legal size hanging folders.  All the drawers moved smoothly.  The two towers are not interchangeable if you are concerned about cord lengths. The left tower does come with a cord hole in it.  Also, there is enough room under the towers to hide power strips.   Next came the desk unit. This one was a bit trickier. The unassembly out of the box took 15 minutes or thereabouts with getting contents out of the package and figuring out where all the parts were. The assembly took about 60 minutes, but it was because there is an issue they do not tell you about in the directions. Depending on how you assemble the middle drawer, one part of the assembly will not have the screw depicted in the direction's pictures. It took me a while to figure out this was an on purpose design error in the graphic. The reason why it has this feature is so that when you put the towers in place and attached the middle drawer section, you can line everything up. If you did not have this flexibility, the slightest degree off would ruin the desk. The wiggle room allows you to have perfection in the end.   A hex bolt screw is especially helpful in tighter spots where you cannot use the one they include (fear of scratching) when building the desk. The same applies if you are going to purchase the hutch.   The middle drawer was a bit cumbersome and took two attempts to get it right. It was partly for the above mention alignment issue and because the first time to get it into the slot, it is tough!  The keyboard drawer only allows for the keyboard -- not the mouse. I happen to like having the keyboard and mouse on the desk itself. I do not like having it in a drawer becasue I feel like my wrists and forearms are too heavy and it will make it sag over time.   When the desk unit is finished, you will be in awe.   However...there are a few caveats. The directions say not to write on the desk!?! Who has a desk that you cannot write on?   The desk surface is smooth, but the finished veneer is very porous. This can be helpful and hurtful. The helpful part is, while assembling it, I managed to get one small scratch, about a 1/16th of an inch in length and no deeper that a 1/64th of an inch. An all-purpose scratch remover polish/oil took it right out. The hurtful part though is that if you are a person who writes with a heavy hand and leaves indentations in your paper, you will not want this desk. Fortunately, I do not have that issue.  I am 6'4" and there is ample leg room for your knees and for leg-length under the desk.  I have to admit, upon finishing this desk I almost did not want to build the hutch. It was beautiful!  ...on to the hutch. To unpackage it and get all the pieces in order took a good 15-20 minutes. This piece of the unit was put together with one person (me), but you should try to do it with two people! It took about an hour or so to finally get everything assembled.   While not upset, there are some major issues with the hutch! First, when assembled larger monitors will not fit! The picture they use is deceiving. I had purposely asked if an 18 inch monitor would fit -- I was told yes, but it does not! The desk top to the lower part of the hutch shelving in 16 inches. I was very distraught, but I was able to take apart my monitor and lay it on a bias like picture frame...phew!  The other aspect was assembling it to the desk. They include two metal mounts to be screwed into the hutch and then into the under belly of the desk. This was easy, but try to have it off the wall enough so that it can be slide into place better when finished.   I do enjoy the back panels. They are just the pieces of veneer they use throughout the desk. They about 1/8th inch thick. No screws are used. They are all slipped into places using grooves in the wood.   The cabinets on the sides do come with shelving. You can manipulate the height for CD's DVD's or anything else you want.  Be sure when assembling the hutch to lay out all pieces first. Do not fully assemble it until you have it laid out. This will save you a lot of frustration. I had one pice that appears to be hat the graphic showed but was upside down.  The contents of the package also use earthquake mounts for tipping. They are a bit on the ugly side, so if you want something nicer, you should get it from your local hardware store. I say that because everything on the desk is a wood and black motif and the wall mounts are silver.   Ok, so now I have a fully assembled desk and hutch!   I love the way it look and it appears to be functional...other than the writing instrument issue.   If you do not purchase the hutch, you could always buy a sheet of plexiglass cut to size to save it.   It cleans up very nicely too. Do not use anything other than lemon oil though. The directions say to do this -- this is not a personal preference!  The desk is also much darker than in the pictures. It almost has more of a cherry look than oak.  Even with the few flaws, the really long assembly time, and some minor directional issues I am very happy with my purchase.  If you have read this far, and still want the desk, you will not be sorry. I love it.

The desk is beautiful and well constructed.  It took much less time to put together then I expected and was much easier than cheaper desks.  [...]  My biggest issue is why would someone design a desk for a computer yet not support its use?  The keyboard tray isn't wide enough to put a keyboard and mouse side by side and the space made for a PC tower has no ventilation.  Other than that I highly recommend this desk!

Beautiful, but...

not sure if my first review made it through or not. I really like the design and appearance of the desk.  One problem I had in assembling it:  the keyboard drawer was inserted in its slot to keep it out of the way.   When I was ready to attach the pieces, I couldn't get the drawer to come out and as a result there are two screws that I could not get to.  If you have any suggestions I would appreciate it.

We felt that the information gave the impression that the desk was all hard wood but it is mostly manufactured wood. There was some difficulty getting the doors and drawers to work correctly. Some parts weren&#x27;t correct - company responded quickly but sent one wrong part again. However we like the look of the desk and feel it is good quality for the price
