<p>Utilizing a custom-formulated stone-derived coating from Germany, the Stone Earth Frying Pan by Ozeri reigns with its ability to deliver non-stick perfection while remaining absolutely free of toxic substances such as APEO, GenX fluorinated chemicals, PFBS, PFOS, PFOA, and the lesser known chemicals NMP and NEP. According to the FDA, many of these chemicals constitute a worrisome class of nonstick and stain-resistant compounds that have found their way into the food chain, including grocery store meats and seafood. A federal toxicology report has linked a number of health concerns to the presence of these compounds in people’s blood. Although the harmful acid PFOA, and to a certain extent PFOS, have been generally phased out of production, non-stick coatings today are often made with the aid of a new generation of advanced fluoropolymers, known as GenX fluorinated chemicals and PFBS. According to EPA studies on these chemicals, the “data are suggestive of cancer” and when orally consumed, these chemicals may be capable of affecting the kidneys, blood, immune system, liver and developing fetuses. Also of concern are APEO chemicals (Alkylphenol ethoxylates), which are under restricted use in Germany due to environmental concerns and toxicity in the food chain. Labelled ‘forever chemicals’ due to their poor degradability and tendency to accumulate in people’s bodies, the EPA and FDA have cited consistent studies of people exposed to many of these compounds that suggest associations with several kinds of cancers, liver problems, low birth weight and other issues, concluding that many of these compounds are more dangerous than previously thought. By not using these fluorinated chemicals, the Stone Earth Frying Pan's German-made coating stands ahead of the curve, achieving the highest marks for food safety and environmental health. In addition, the Stone Earth Frying Pan uses an inert coating that is applied using a water-based Sol Gel Technique which is also free of the lesser known but potentially harmful chemicals NMP (N-Methyl-2-pyrrolidone) and NEP (N-ethyl-2-pyrrolidone), sometimes found in traditional cookware.</p>

The interior is white ceramic, therefore the pan itself and the care booklet state you can't cook any higher than medium heat, or the pan might fuse to or damage your glass stove top. The booklet also states that handwashing is recommended, which is a bit inconvenient for me with a family to feed. It's also recommended that you season it with oil after each wash & use. I like the size of the pan, it's versatile for many types of meals and deep enough to avoid splatters. The pan handle and lid handle are both comfortable, with silicone grips. The pan isn't very heavy, so it's easy for me to maneuver and use. The color is more of an ombre, with turquoise, teal, and darker blue. Still beautiful though. A nice pan overall if you don't mind a bit more maintenance than usual.

I never found a brand that I got that exited about, but this pan/skillet w/ a lid is absolutely fantastic. I have 2 cooking pans 2 different sizes and I don't even bother with using the ones I thought I liked best that I purchased in the last 5 or 10 years which served me well were the Farberware brand. This Pioneer brand cooks so much faster, is much prettier-love the teal color, and absolutely nothing I have tried to make so far in it -nothing gets stuck or attached to this white enamel looking inside. If bread crumbs start to burn in the pan it never attaches to the pan just floats around until the rest of the items have cooked and are finished frying. It really has been the most impressive cookware I've tried in all the years I've been cooking! We are talking over 40 years!

THE GREATEST POTS AND PANS!

Beautiful pot, got rid of all my Teflon pots and changed over to ceramic and stainless steel. This pot is big and pretty to look at ..nothing sticks. I love it so much i bought 8 of them.
The blue is beautiful but the gray is classic, and at 15.00 dollars for Black Friday it was affordable for me to share with neighbors…thank you pioneering woman for such lovely pots.

Beautiful pot

I love this pan! It's a little deeper than most of the 4 or 5 quart pans I've had, but that works better for some dishes! I absolutely love the color. The pan gets hot super fast as well! It is well made and I hope it will last for years to come because I love it!

Love it

This is a really nice pan it is nice looking and made really well it and it is super heavy and I love that it comes with a little cookbook with cool recipes to try. Very nice and also instructions on how to clean the pan as well. Really cool saute pan.

Saute Pan

So I got this Pioneer Woman ceramic 4.5 quart jumbo pan and lid for several reasons. First off I loved the size … perfect for large quantities when cooking for a large group… second o love the fact it can also be put in the oven and used to bake … FANTASTIC!! I also love the fact that it has silicone handles and grip … I used it on stovetop today and it definitely was a great feature to not need a pot holder… I can only imagine how awesome that will be when putting it in and out of a hot oven! Lastly I love that's it porcelain enamel… good quality. Oh yeah … and the color is beautiful!!!!!

Very high quality

I absolutely love this pan. It has officially become my go-to pan for cooking most dinners. First, the design of the pan is perfect. It is medium weight which allows for it to hold its place on the smooth electric cooktops but isn't so heavy that you can barely lift it. The handles on both the pan and lid have a nice rubber grip. The depth of the pan is perfect for containing spillovers when stirring. The grey color is gorgeous. It has an ombre effect going from a darker grey to a lighter grey. Second, it is so easy to clean. The non-stick surface is one of the best I've ever used. I have not had any food stick to this pan after two weeks of using it almost daily. The cooked food residue just rinses off with hardly any effort in scrubbing. And lastly, food cooks so nicely in this pan. Again, I have not overcooked or burnt anything from this pan getting too hot in some spots. It seems to hold the heat evenly. Overall, this is another wonderful product from the Pioneer Woman brand. I love her products and this pan has lived up to the same high-quality standards of her other products.

Excellent pan

I've used this brand of pots and pans before so this saute pan was no surprise. It is heavy which lends to the quality, the lid is well made and has the vent hole which lets steam escape.

The handle is soft and rubbery so it is easy to grip. The grey color blends beautifully with most decor. The pan cooks well and is a great size for multiple options.

Another win from Pioneer Woman

Besides being beautiful to look at it feel comfortable to cook with. The rubber on the handle isn't too thick and it doesn't get hot when cooking on a range top. The weight of this pan isn't too heavy; great for older folks. And the size is perfect for a small family or couple. 
The interior is non-stick ceramic, the exterior is aluminum which holds heat well. The bottom is perfectly flat and thick making cooking on an electric flat range perfect. The glass lid has a vent hole to prevent steam buildup. 
The reason I'm not rating this a 5 is that I've read it can go into a 350 oven, then elsewhere I read 400 degrees. This pan is more for stovetop cooking and keeping warm in the oven rather than braising or oven cooking. 
Hand washing is recommended rather than being dishwasher safe. 
It's not an expensive pot and time will tell its quality as far as the ceramic and riveted handles.

Comfortable to hold

I received 2 of these as a Christmas present last year, used the 1st one twice (no high heat, no metal utensils, nothing, just like I use with my Rachel Ray set that was also purchased YEARS ago for the color) and the inside coating started to tear and look like it had been sliced. I stopped using it for months. Well earlier last month, I remembered I had a second one and decided to start using that one. before the month was up, I found flecks of the non stick coating on my food... so both turned out to be useless. While they were purchased, much to my excitement, for only $15/each, I still do not feel they were worth THAT. They're horribly made and do not last long. They have only been handwashed since I received them (I do not own a dishwasher) and I don't own metal cooking utensils - haven't for YEARS now. Extremely disappointed. I suppose if you buy them for decorative purposes you'll get your money's worth. You couldn't pay me to purchase a "Pioneer Woman" product after this experience. NO Thank You!!!! Buyer Beware.
