When it comes to Metroidvanias, Blasphemous deliveries. The classic 16 bit art style makes the game feel like it was taken straight from the Super Nintendo. The gameplay is smooth, and the controls are tight.
This is the full release of the game, with all of the DLC included. While not as "Collectible" as the Limited Run Games release, this version is affordable and complete. Definitely one to add to your collection.

Blasphemous takes a few well trodden genres and mashes them into something that is fun, rewarding and downright beautiful. Its story, themes and macabre nature will not suit everyone but I could not get enough of it. Its difficulty is near-perfect, not too hard but enough of a challenge to please most players. Metroidvania fans, Souls-like fans and gamers who want a challenge will revel in this games gorgeously crafted world. Its a brilliantly crafted experience that needs to be played.

One of the best 2d Souls like and Metroidvania blends you can get on any system or PC.
The setting and themes might mean a lot more if you are christian and know your stuff.
But this is hands down one of the best of the genera, this and dead cells are must haves.

The reviews for this game were strong and I have to say, Blasphemous really held up to the praise. It is a metroidvania style game where you csn stumble on some incredibly challenging or impossible areas and have to find a way to get stronger to progress. The lore is quite deep and when played in original Spanish the intended language really takes you on a journey story wise. Fair warning, it is a Spanish title, so the religious themes are quite dark and exploratory. Super enjoyable and twisted. I bought it digitally after making the physical purchase because it is thaf good.

I'll make this short. It's a Metroidvania game that has a mood of Soulborne series. It's hard initially but once you learn from your mechanics and don't go Leeroy on it, it might be easy.
Regardless, I enjoy this but be warned that the theme is on the religious side.

A:It does not. Wounds of Eventide was a download. The version of this game is ahead in patches compared to the version Limited Run Games sold though. All DLC for this game is free as a heads up to future readers looking to acquire a copy of this game.
