Nice little cam for the money.
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have this mounted beside the rearview mirror on my Silverado. It's small enough that it's unobtrusive, but the screen is still large enough that I can see what's showing on the screen. The suction cup is slightly tacky and pretty strong. Combined with the camera's lightweight, I don't see it ever coming loose. Video quality is pretty good. Signs and license plates are captured pretty well, though plates can be a bit iffy if they're too far away. The audio is good too, so if you're trying to note a plate for an incident, it might be best to call it out verbally so you'll have an audio record of it on the video just to be safe. The rear camera can be adjusted to aim up or down if needed and the camera is good enough to capture what's happening behind me, even through my truck's extremely dark window tint. This camera does not have an internal battery, so it has to be plugged in to power to operate. The power cord is generously long, so figuring out where you want to get your power from should be easy. The power cord is a USB, making it convenient to plug into any USB port or adapter you have in your vehicle. I have mine run to a USB adapter in my center console and just plug/unplug it when I want to turn the camera on/off. For me, it's quicker and more convenient than using the power button on the camera itself. The on-screen menus are not intuitive at all, but at the same time aren't too difficult to figure out. After initial setup, I rarely ever get into them. Just note that the camera cannot be recording while navigating the menus. At this price point this is a very good camera and I will likely end up getting 1 or 2 more for other vehicles.

Great Dash Cam
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It is a very simple, yet effective cam. The suction cup holds nice and firm with an added locking mechanism, the unit itself is lightweight, the interface is straightforward and the power cable is generously long. I like that it includes a USB hub adapter to plug into your cars aux power outlet too. The recording quality is really good for both the front and rear facing cameras day and night. It also has loop recording, which is a feature you want in a dash cam *Basically it will keep constantly recording, even if you run out of memory, as it overwrites old files*. Things I want potential buyers to be aware of, because I see others may have not read the full description of this unit, is this is a HARDWIRED powered unit ONLY. It MUST be plugged in to function. Second, it DOES NOT come with a micro SD card. Even though the online manual says it can support up to 256gb cards, I can confirm that it DOES NOT support it. I got an unsupported error message multiple times. The box however indicates it can only support up to a 128gb card, which is the correct limit. Pro tip, get a higher quality fast reading SD card do NOT go cheap *I use a Sandisk with a V10 rating*. Make sure to format the card if using for the first time there is a handy built in setting in the dash cam that can do it for you. Video clips are saved as MP4 files and they they can be saved and played on most devices. Clips can be trimmed and sorted afterwards too. Overall, it's a very good cam for the price. Obviously there are more expensive better ones, but this still performs exceptionally well for only a hundred bucks and it can fit most peoples needs. As a safety precaution, I recommend taking it down if you are going to be parked for an extended period of time, so as noone tries to make an attempt to steal it. I've done this a bunch of times and it hasn't lost any suction strength.

Get a dash cam for your prtection
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great add on dash cam; first get a 128GB micro SD card and a card reader (to PC) which are NOT included with the cam. I leave the display on when the cam is turned on. I manually turn the cam on at the start of a trip; off at the end of the trip. My vehicle's accessory port supplying the cam is hot all the time. If your car 's power receptacle turns off the cam when you turn off the the car's ignition switch that is a benefit to what I don't have in my car. CAM RECORDS IN EITHER ONE, THREE OR FIVE SECOND LOOP On cam display, follow initial set up: set the length of the recording loop time 1 3 or 5 seconds set how long cam display is on one sec to always on set date and time format SD card Upon set up mount unit, route power cable (supplied with cam) to an accessory receptacle. Unit will automatically start upon power introduction, there will be a couple of yellow flashes that will occur at start up for a second or 2. Unit is passively recording now in the set time loop. Loop recordings are stored on card and newest footage is over written on card to the oldest. To manually record press pwr button 1 time, the cam will record in "emergency" mode in the designated time loop, the footage is saved to another file on the card that can be only be manually deleted with the card reader Get a dash cam for your protection.

VERY SATISFIED
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A bang for your buck. If you are not a DIY gut & doesn’t want to run wires for a separate rear camera, this dash cam will be great and does it’s job. The built in rear camera for me is good enough. CLEAR videos front & back. For those who wrote that there is no instructions, you can fond & print it on Bestbuy website, thus all in all i am VERY SATISFIED

Easy to setup
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.mounted it right behind the rear view mirror in my 07 camry. Wire across the top of the windshield down the side of the dash behind the glovebox into the center console. Took me 15 min to finish and that was taking my time. Picture is decent quality. Takes up to 5 min video clips of the inside and outside. Mic can be turned off if you don't want to be recorded singing. Need to purchase SD card separately. Using a 128gb with mine. Best value in my opinion. A lot of other brands sell at much higher prices just cause the brand name.

Great camera and quality.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Worked wonderfully! I bought a 256gb memory card for it and used the camera on a truck from Illinois to Nevada. Because our windshield was an OEM brand which reduced UV, the temperature of the glass where the suction cup did not get too hot. I had it in a 3 min loop for recording and have not filled the memory card yet. I plan on formatting at the end of every week, but because the capacity is so large, I can probably do it once per month. Quality is great, front and back camera. Easy to use, very simple menu settings and functions. I’ll be buying another one for my other vehicle.

Pretty good dash cam
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I used to use Off brand go pros for a dashcam but decided to try a dedicated one instead. I was drawn to the dual camera. It has come in handy. My only gripe is the suction. It got to hot and since it has a sticky adhesive it fell and now it’s dirty and can’t stick back on the windshield.

Perfect and great for driving vlogs
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Honestly I bought this for my challenger after my accident to prevent issues and for a first time user its good !!! I connected it to the car charging port and at first I didnt like the string hanging in the middle of the dash so I got creative and found a way to hide the cable along side the door and then put the remainder of the cord in the glove compartment and then have it sleek and no cables showing!!! ^.^ but it records front and rear and good picture quality ive made a couple of driving vlogs with the footage 10/10 recommend if you arent ready to invest in a hard wire one, just make sure to get a good chip to put in and done (; Also no additonal apps needed for the cam to work !

Q: Questionwhen the car is off for example on parkin lot, this camera is not recording???
Asked by pepe.
- A:Answer This camera turns off when the car is turned off. If left plugged into the power source and the user set the GPS and Motion detection settings, the device will record if your car is hit, or if someone walks within view of the camera.

Q: Questiondoes anybody know what the coffee cup or the other symbols are?
Asked by gclco.
- A:Answer Hi. I truly appreciate you taking some time to share your inquiry. The coffee cup symbol is the Driver fatigue alarm. It displays the icon and beeps once to remind you to rest. You can select 1h, 2h, 4h, or Off. If you do not stop for a break, the alarm is repeated every 30 minutes. We have a full schematic with all the icons of the Camera that we can send you. Just please e-mail us at https://www.insigniaproducts.com/contact-us and we will be happy to provide you with the full information. Alexander G. - Insignia Support

Q: QuestionIt is mentioned as a rear camera dash cam too ... does it mean I can use it to watch rear side view while parking and if yes where can be the rear camera fixed to car.
Asked by RAMS.
- A:Answer No, the rear view is just a small window in screen of the dashcam, and if you swap it out it still won't work because it takes an image of everything towards the back beginning at the camera, so your face and the inside of the car plus looking through the rear and side windows is what is seen.

Q: QuestionWhat is the capacity of micro sd card that can be use in GB?

Answered by KenNY
Q: QuestionDoes the camera record both front and rear simultaneously, or must you choose one or the other?
Asked by BG.
- A:Answer Both simultaneously. you'll get a 'back' file and a 'front' file on the memory card

Q: QuestionCan the camera be used during car parking (parking mode), and, if so, does the kit include required wiring (which one), any protection for car battery?
Asked by Frodo.
- A:Answer The camera will record as long as there is a power source that is active. This is a wired camera and the device must be plugged into a USB/lighter socket using the adapter that comes with the device. When your car is on, the camera records. If your car is off and the accessories are not provided power when off, the camera will turn off. If you would like protection while parked, i.e. footage of incidents, then you should turn on the feature for GPS activation and Motion. GPS will turn the camera on and record if the camera detects an impact. The Motion setting will turn the camera on and record when motion is detected in the camera view. Always ensure that you have a good battery and alternator, and check your vehicle manual regarding accessory power use. Footage is nice, but don't kill your battery by accident.

Q: QuestionHi, Does this dash cam need to be plugged in at all times in the USB port in order to run or can it run standalone if it's charged fully? Thanks!
Asked by joejoe.
- A:Answer Has to be always plugged in to use. No internal battery for standalone recording.
Answered by NateN
Q: QuestionDoes this dash cam require a subscription? Can it playback video on an android phone?
Asked by Jerome.
- A:Answer No, It does not require a subscription. It saves the video to a memory card that you will have to buy separate. So if your phone can pull video off a micro memory card you should be able to see it on your phone.
