We are excited to welcome Koy Pantry back to the lab!
Koy Pantry is a Boston area based brand (run by longtime friends of Curio) that specializes in artisanal, small batch pantry products from Turkey. Co-founded by three friends who wanted to share high-quality ingredients, Koy Pantry works with small producers in Southeastern Turkey to source their products. By working directly with producers, they are able to offer products that have an emphasis on seasonality and traditional production methods dating back to early Anatolian civilizations. In turn, they offer farmers greater financial security.
Join Koy Pantry at Curio Spice and meet the faces behind the brand. They will have samples of dishes highlighting their products, recipes and stories of their time back home and the passion they have for Anatolian food.
Ready for some serious spice exploration? Delve into the enchanting world of spice blending with instructor Susan Turner!
She’ll introduce you to our flavor theory and the principles that we use to make the exquisite blends we’re known for. Susan will guide you through tasting different spices and teach you about flavor and aroma. She will demonstrate blending techniques and discuss how attention to details such as texture and color can make a blend sing. And, Susan will share insider knowledge about layering flavor, roasting spices, grinding, sensory analysis, and training your palate.
In the hands-on portion of this class, you’ll make one of Curio’s classic blends plus create a blend of your own from our spice cupboard of over 80 intriguing spices. You’ll head home with Curio's Spice Flavor Wheel, blending recipes, and jars of the two blends you made during class. Join us for this wonder-filled evening! This is a small class, limited to 15 participants. Sign up today to reserve your spot!

Join us in the Lab and meet author Makenna Held as she celebrates her new cookbook, "Mostly French"! Makenna will share what it was like to create her beautiful cookbook, and the intricacies of flavors and recipes from Provence. You will come away with a newfound love of French cuisines and flavors!
“MOSTLY FRENCH brilliantly demystifies the cuisine that has intimidated many a home cook, bringing it back to its peasant country roots, giving us a way to cook that is honest and grounded— this is food I want to eat!” - Olivia Tiedmann, chef and creator of Oliviatied
“Makenna Held is the Elizabeth Gilbert of cooking, and her book is for anyone who has fantasized about picking up and starting over to follow a dream. It’s also for people who want to bring the romance of southern France into their lives, as Makenna takes us to centuries-old charming markets and olive groves and shows us how to produce some of the most gloriously simple and gloriously iconic foods (galettes! tarte tatin, pistous!) in our own kitchens. I couldn't be more inspired.” - Jenny Rosenstrach, NY Times bestselling author of Dinner: A Love Story and The Weekday Vegetarians
“I love this book! Mostly French was conceived and cooked in Julia Child’s magical and simple kitchen in Provence, and her spirit grabs you on each page. Makenna Held puts her heart in the sumptuous and straightforward recipes modeled on French classics, and I’m certain I’ll be cooking my way through this book for many years to come.” - Daniel Leader, Founder, Bread Alone bakery
