About Rolling Loud
Rolling Loud started out in 2015 as a rather modest one-day event in the heart of Miami, Florida. Since, it's become "the largest hip-hop festival in the world" with appearances by such big names as Kendrick Lamar, Lil Wayne, Travis Scott, Post Malone, Migos, J. Cole, A$AP Rocky and Lil Uzi Vert. In the early 2010s, Dope Entertainment cofounders Tariq Cherif and Matthew Zingler were looking to create a hip-hop equivalent to other major Miami music events like Winter Music Conference and Ultra Music Festival. The inaugural Rolling Loud, held on February 28, 2015, attracted a crowd of around 6,000 to Miami's flashy Soho Studios, where concertgoers came to catch headliner ScHoolboy Q, along with Action Bronson, Curren$y, Travis Scott and a who's who of local talent like Denzel Curry, Pouya and QuESt. The following year, Rolling Loud took over the Mana Wynwood Convention Center for two days, drawing an even bigger crowd for performers including Future, Young Thug, 2 Chainz and Ty Dolla $ign. By 2017, the festival's ticket sales skyrocketed as the event headed to the scenic Bayfront Park to host Kendrick Lamar, Lil Wayne, Mac Miller, Post Malone and more of the hottest rappers on the planet over three days in May. That same year, Rolling Loud rolled through both Northern and Southern California to satiate West Coast crowds with similar lineups. In 2018, the event would see its biggest lineup yet with a new location at Miami Gardens' Hard Rock Stadium, home of the Miami Dolphins. Rolling Loud celebrated its fifth anniversary in 2019 by continuing to take over America (and the world) with events in New York and Australia. As the festival keeps expanding, in Miami and beyond, it continues to prove its reputation as one of the world's most impressive and thrilling showcases of both the current and future stars of hip-hop.
