    Crazy-Good

by Ralph on 6/30/22Birchmere - Alexandria

I've seen Molly Tuttle five times in four years. She gets better each time I see her.I saw her in 9/21 in Boulder, and I saw her 6/27/22 at The Birchmere. She got better during the interim by magnitudes -- 10 times better. This show was in my top 3 of 40 years of going to the Birchmere. My fave Bluegrass show ever (I've seen Doc Watson, Seldom Scene). Golden Highway + Molly were playing for their own enjoyment. It is rare to witness this and it was special. Bronwyn was great on fiddle. The boys were great on banjo and mando. But Shelby Means on bass was the secret sauce -- locking in the team on rhythm and driving them forward. Just an astonishing display of collective individual talent. Great tune list, especially covers of Townes Van Zandt and Rancid.

    Total Heater

by Joey on 6/30/22Birchmere - Alexandria

The venue needs no introduction. Needless to say it was a great vibe. I did not however expect this show to be such a heater! It's bluegrass and folk, sure, but Molly's new band really brings the jam and there's this wonderful touch of progressiveness, flirting with the edges of what is by definition a traditionalist genre. I was expecting a good show but did not expect such originality in presentation. An as always, watching Molly pick is just a total joy!

Molly Tuttle: a stunning, one-in-a-generation artist

    by Scooter D on 6/30/22Birchmere - Alexandria

I have attended dozens of concerts at the Birchmere, in Alexandria, Virginia, and hundreds across the globe in my lifetime. Molly Tuttle & Golden Highway delivered the finest concert I have ever heard at the Birchmere, and among the best I have witnessed in my life. Emmylou in 1978, James Taylor in 1977 - - she was in that rarified company - - one-in-a-generation artists who were just hitting their prime. Dear World - - listen to this stunning artist: great guitarist and songwriter, excellent singer, in total command of her craft. Golden Highway is the perfect back-up band for Molly, and deserve high praise. But make no mistake - - Molly is THE star, the ever-so-gracious star who is comfortable enough in her skin to share the spotlight with others. From beginning to end, the concert was perfectly paced. Highest point: "Olympia, WA", followed by "She's a Rainbow," and "Big Backyard". Molly's latest album, "Crooked Tree", is gorgeous from beginning to end, and was the centerpiece of the concert. Run, do not walk to the next Molly Tuttle concert!

    Great band

by DS on 4/23/22District Live - Savannah

This was our second time seeing Molly and first with this new lineup. They are all fantastic musicians and didn’t disappoint! This concert featured her friend Rachel Baiman as the warmup act - she had a comfortable voice though the sound crew had her vocals a bit muddy. When Molly and Golden Highway came on, the vocals were clear as a bell (though I thought a bit loud). Molly and the band’s talent made up for the sound crew. The venue was a standing room only room so it was easy to get close to the stage to watch Molly’s right-hand work - wow! We’ll definitely keep an eye out for more shows in the hall (District Live in Savannah GA).

    Great performance at Soundstage

by BmoreHun on 4/13/22Baltimore Soundstage - Baltimore

Molly and Golden Highway are great and going to be huge - catch this show now while they’re still playing intimate venues. Excellent, highly energetic performance. A+ for Molly & the band. C for the mix - vocals were sadly buried though all instruments came through clearly. Overall great show!

    Three shows, five days Aaamazing

by J&C on 8/28/21High Noon Saloon - Madison

This show in Madison was our third in less than a week. That triple dose of Molly and the band have made us Tuttleheads for life. She played everything we wanted to hear and more. My personal favorites were the unplugged numbers with acoustic bass and stomp box. It’s really a joy to see artists on the cusp of something big. See Molly and the band ASAP while you can still watch the amazing players from just a few feel away. Soon enough it’ll be much bigger crowds and way higher ticket prices. They left us “Helpless” in the glow of the most amazing artists/show we’ve see in a long while.
