We no longer worry about the cat running out of food! This pet feeder, is easy to program, and you can set for once a day rotation or multiple meals per day, depending on how your pet is use to eating. The food tray is easy to remove and can even go in the dishwasher.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently began using this for my little yorkie dog.  It makes feeding and treats very easy and convenient to use.  Fill up once and you're done! Program it to a set schedule and it works like a charm.  I like that it's battery operated since I have no outlets where I feed him.  I also read batteries last a while. So. That's a plus.  All in all, great product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received my pet feeder  and I am in love. It actually looks bigger than what I expect and it's space saver friendly . My only downside is the big D batteries but other than that my item came on time and no damages . Each little section holds exactly one cup of food for my lil fur baby which is awesome so I am not over feeding her when it's time to eat . Also the tray is removable and it is dishwasher safe so that's a big bonus for me ... (Not able to get the batteries at this moment to  say how the timer works but I will try and update when my batteries arrive )

Great product

This cat feeder does well for the two cats we have. Working 12 hour days it keeps the cat fed at different time intervals. Liked the first well enough to get a second.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This feeder is perfect for my small dogs. It switches at the same time everyday while I'm at work so I dont have to worry about them not eating! Theres also a setting that you can put for am and pm feedings in case your not going to be home! How perfect is that! Keeps the food fresh too. I was worried about that. But its just as fresh as when it came out of the bag! Highly recommend this feeder! It's great for small dogs and cats!

The best automatic feeder

We purchased this feeder to address a very specific problem we were having with our Diabetic cat. We give her insulin injections twice per day and we need to feed her a measured wet food meal before we can administer her insulin. We have three other cats, two of which will only eat dry food. We soon found that leaving dry food out all day while we are at work for them to free-feed was very problematic. The Diabetic cat would eat the dry food before her meal time and therefore would not be hungry enough to eat the measured wet food meal we needed to give her before her injection. This feeder and our method of figuring out how to fill it to solved our unique problem. By filling some sections and leaving certain other sections empty, we are able to set the timer to rotate to an empty section three hours before the wet food meal times. This essentially "removes" the dry food availability so our Diabetic cat is sure to be hungry enough to eat her measured portion when we feed her the pre-injection wet food meals. We couldn't be happier with the solution and we are very happy with the quality and functionality of the feeder. We hope our solution may help other multi-cat families who need to control feeding times.

Fantastic Solution to a Unique Problem

 With the gravity one, she would eat until she was sick and with the plug in one she would  stick her hand up in the hole and make food come down!! This Petsafe 5 meal pet feeder is  exactly what it's name says, a safe! She can't break into it!! You set the time for when the meals are and the dish inside turns with the individual meal trays you pre-fill. I am beyond impressed. I work full time in healthcare and sometimes work late or want to sleep in, Petsafe to the rescue, vacation, yup.. Petsafe. I absolutely LOVE it.

This is the best thing ever!!!

After I got it setup correctly my cat loves it.  She has gotten to know that when she hears the noise of the feeder turning to come running for food.  I like the idea that she gets fed at a consistent time and doesn't get overfed.  She's not hungry all the time since she's fed at the same time everyday.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got the 5 Meal Pet Feeder and was anxious to try it out. I went and bought batteries, and then the magic happened....for me. I was able to adjust the times, fill all the bowls at once, and walk away. It was super nice, in my head, to sleep late and still feed Athena. I woke up and casually walked into the kitchen expecting to see an empty bowl. She was so scared of it, she didn't eat a bite. I spent the next day with Athena coaxing her and trying to calm her nerves. She eventually ate out of it -not happily. She is still slowly adjusting, but she is getting more used to it.

This product is really cool but unfortunately not very durable. I rarely review products but have to comment on this one because I think it is a GOOD item that could be AWESOME with just a few minor improvements. The bowl turns perfectly with the times I have programmed and it allowed me to sleep in over the weekend when my dog is used to being fed at 6am. 

If you have a cat or a small/easygoing dog, this item should work well for you. I, on the other hand, have a 22 lb., 11 year old beagle who is very calm and lazy, except when food is involved - then she morphs into a ravenous wolf. 

I have had this feeder for less than a week and my senior dog has broken into it 4 times.    
She has had little success chewing away the edges of the cover near the bowl opening (see photo), but the real issue is the locking mechanism on the front that is pretty ineffective at keeping the cover closed.  The lock should be much stronger so it cannot be so easily manipulated. 

Next, while the feeder isn't light like a normal bowl, it also isn't heavy enough to prevent a dog from sliding or tossing it around a bit. Even if the aforementioned lock worked properly, the feeder would still be problematic because anytime my dog gets even a little rough with it (again, she is 11 years old and 22 lbs - she is not a 100 lb puppy), the battery compartment opens, the batteries dislodge, and the entire feeder shuts down. As a result, I've had to reset the clock and feeding times nearly each day since I bought this item. 

It worries me that my dog could simply rattle around the feeder a bit, dislodge the batteries, and then she would not be fed in a timely manner unless I'm home and notice it.  I literally have had to use packing tape to keep the battery compartment as well as the feeder cover closed. The product's designers should have thought through these potential issues to ensure it could withstand a little abuse by a curious dog. 

Bottom line: Could be worth the $$ to someone else under different circumstances, but not durable enough to make it worth it to me.
