Fashion’s Flash: Back to the Future

Madeleine Park is a Sydney-based fashion presenter, stylist, and founder/host of Style Stories, a celebrated Australian podcast that shares the stories of creatives with a strong sense of style. Madeleine has worked with some of Australia’s leading fashion and media outlets including Network Ten, Channel 7, Are Media, The Walt Disney Company and Australian Fashion Week.

Nina Fitzgerald is a proud Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander woman whose family hails from the Northern Territory, the Torres Strait Islands and Far North Queensland. Based in Darwin, she is a multi-disciplinary Creative Director and writer working across fashion and the arts.

Zoltan Csaki’s third startup Citizen Wolf combines algorithms and on-demand manufacturing to create the sustainable future that fashion so desperately needs. Zoltan was recently named one of Vogue’s ‘Future Sixty’ agitators (2019) as well as placing #7 on RagTrader’s Tech 20 of the most influential people in online fashion (2020). Zoltan and Citizen Wolf have been featured on national TV via SBS World News (twice) and Shark Tank as well as top tier press such as Vogue, InStyle, Men’s Health, The AFR’s ‘Luxury’ magazine, The Australian and The Sydney Morning Herald to name but a few. Zoltan speaks regularly about the intersection of fashion, technology and sustainability and has also been featured on the prestigious ‘Wardrobe Crisis’ podcast by Clare Press.

Maggie Zhou is a Melbourne-based writer, podcaster, content creator, and slow fashion advocate. She is currently Writer & Producer at Refinery29 Australia, and has written for publications such as ELLE Australia, Marie Claire, MTV, Good On You, and Fashion Journal.

Jodie Choolburra-Welsh is a Gamilaroi and Murrwarri woman born and raised in the Redfern community. Jodie’s skin name is Gunimaa which means “Mother Earth” in Gamilaraay. Jodie has worked in the First Nation’s Arts, Culture and Political arena for over 20 years. August 2020 saw her draw on her skills, knowledge and passion to build her business, Brolga Dance Academy. An Aboriginal dance school based in Redfern, specialising in Traditional and Aboriginal Contemporary dance and culture.

Amy Johnson is a descendant of the Turrabal people and a proud Jagera woman. Amy is the Seniors Aboriginal Contemporary and Brolga Elite’s choreographer/teacher at Brolga Dance Academy. Dancing since the age of 2, Amy is following her passion for working with young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, teaching dance, and keeping connected with culture. Amy is also a cheerleader for the NRL Canterbury Bulldog Sapphires.

Hayley is a Darug woman, born and raised on her traditional homelands in Southwest Sydney. Hayley works across diverse mediums using contemporary colours to reflect her culture. Her art tells the story of a modern woman with an ancient heritage. Some of Hayley’s commission work has included producing artwork for IAG’s NRMA Connecting Roads to Country Billboards and a Netflix animated film “Back to the Outback”.
