I have spent so much money on kitchen garbage cans that claim to be pet proof. My dog has learned how to get in every one! Finally saw this can on the Walmart site andand for 30.00 what could it hurt? We've only had it for about a week, but Winston hasn't been able to figure it out, and if he could lift the lid, it would only take him to the outside of the trash bag, not the goodies inside. It's sturdy and holds almost twice the garbage of the expensive ones. I'm very happy. Winston is the brown dog looking disgusted in The back.

Great trash can for the price!

I like the size of the trash can. I have a mastiff who loves to have trash snacks and this trash can is taller than her which is a huge plus. Even though it is big it's not overly big for indoor use. Another plus is when you lift the whole lid the contents are still protected (my doggo is smart and has easily figured out how to open all the previous cans we have tried)

Is it wrong to love a trash can?

I bought one to see the quality and for 20 bucks it is not bad at all. No it is imperative when you get it to hook the metal thing threw lid then put lid on top and faceing back of can push it down til it clicks in place and make sure it snaps in correctly. If you don't like the other people who wrote bad reviews because they overlooked the instructions on the inside of lid then you will get a lid that lifts up when you press petal. If you make sure it snaps in then you will have a wonderful working can! I ended up getting 3 total for my whole house. I am definitely pleased. You should never have to take the lid off after you install because it has neat lil bag holders built in so you can easily slip bag in and out. For 20 bucks i feel like this can was worth it. Plus it is a great size. I upgraded from 13 gal tal to these 20 gal trash cans and it makes a huge difference.

These trash cans are a steal!

I procrastinated this purchase for way too long. I wasn't doing the right research on these types of garbage cans. All the ones I found in my search results were upwards of $50-100. I had a swing lid and I hated it so much. It was disgusting. I wanted something that would completely eliminate direct contact. It was hard and nasty to scrape things off of plates, the plates had to touch the trash can. Then food would get on the trash can. I've needed this step trash can desperately. It is perfect. It's much bigger than my last. Trips to the sinister are fewer. There's no smell in my kitchen. It's nice on the eyes, my last was an ugly red. The pedal is high like other reviews say, but I've already gotten used to it and don't even notice it. Plus it's only $20! I love it so much I named it. Noir!

As a family of 6 plus 2 large dogs our 13 gallon trash can wasn't cutting it anymore. I found we were filling it too quickly. I began researching larger options but didn't want anything too big. I also wasn't willing to spend $100  on a trash can. This 21 gallon simple trash can has been absolutely perfect for us. The size is just right so we aren't filling it up twice a day. The price was also great. If you're in the market for a larger can I'd highly recommend this one!

Perfect size for larger families

This upgrade in size to your typical 13 gal kitchen can is great for the cost. Extra wide top and handles inside to help with easy bag removal. The only thing I would change is for distributors to make 20 gal bags more obtainable. I have only found reasonably priced bags on Amazon, but I had to dig. Your normal 13 gal bags will work, but the point of the larger can was to be able to fit more trash so it defeats the purpose.

Affordable Large Trash Can

The lid doesn't fit it just drops down so it's useless I also thought I bought the 13 gallon can since that's the only garbage bags I have. That's on me.

I cannot believe that every time I order from Walmart for pick up, something is always wrong! 
I had confidence that this order would have no problems! I get home to find that I had three (3) trashcan lids and none of them fit the can; not to mention it had T R A S H in it!! If Costco wasn't so far, I'd never do business with Walmart again! I've spent thousands of dollars with Walmart and I'm tired of pitiful service and I won't show the trash I removed from the can!

21 gal foot touch trash can

Giving it a star because I reached out to customer service and I got no response, wish I had read others reviews before buying. As soon as it arrived, while assembling it, the freaking top plastics broke so mad!

Poor quality

False advertising. The lid is smaller then the bin.  Doesn't close properly. Will leave my kitchen smelly because it doesn't close properly. A perfect fly haven. Step on doesn't even work properly . A waste of money. Step on doesn't even work without lid falling inside bin.  Broken clips on lid. Save yourself and be warned. INFERIOR PRODUCT!!  DONT BUY!! Its not even worth the sale price. I'm an international customer. I can't even return this useless bin because it's going to cost me too much. I should get my money back.   If I could I would select 0 star. Doesn't deserve a 1 at all
