Get a birds-eye view of the city skyline from the N Seoul Tower, a 774ft beacon atop Mount Namsan.

N Seoul Tower is known by various names. The ‘N’ stands for ‘new’, ‘nature’ or ‘Namsan’ (depending who you ask), but locals tend to stick with either Seoul Tower or Namsan Tower.

The best way to reach this sky-high observation tower is by taking a cable car up the mountain from the boarding point near Myeong-dong station. Once there, hook yourself up with an audio guide to get the most from your visit and be sure to check out the love padlocks (and maybe even add your own) on the roof terrace of the plaza before whizzing up to the observation deck for sweeping 360-degree views across Seoul and beyond.

N Seoul Tower is open until 10PM daily, and evening is a great time to visit: firstly for the sight of the tower itself, lit like a blazing candle on top of Mount Namsan; secondly for the romantic views of millions of lights twinkling across the city.

Getting in
