About

BLACKPINK in Concert

Since first bursting onto the scene in 2016, BLACKPINK have redefined the possibilities of K-pop, transcending all categorization and ascending to global stardom. With their unstoppably catchy single "Ddu-Du Ddu-Du," the South Korean quartet shattered the record for highest-charting Billboard Hot 100 debut by an all-female K-pop act, while its head-turning video surpassed 10 million views in just six hours and amassed 36.2 million views in one day. As they continue to shake up the pop landscape, BLACKPINK are now set to deliver their first-ever U.S. performance: a much-buzzed-about appearance as one of the top-billed acts at this year's Coachella, making them the first K-pop girl group ever to grace the stage at the country's premier music festival.

Discovered by YG Entertainment, BLACKPINK is comprised of Jisoo, Jennie, Lisa, and Rosé—four immensely charismatic vocalists, dancers, and fashion icons. Though the group boasts a boundary-crossing appeal, they've had a particularly powerful impact on millennial and Gen Z women and girls around the world, building a passionate following who go by the fandom nickname of "Blinks." With their eclectic backgrounds—RosĂ© was born in New Zealand and raised in Australia, Jennie was raised in New Zealand and Korea, Lisa grew up in Thailand, and Jisoo is a Seoul native—BLACKPINK proves to be a uniquely multicultural and multilingual force within the K-pop world.

BLACKPINK on Tour

Arriving in August 2016, BLACKPINK's debut release Square One quickly proved their crossover power, with Rolling Stone praising the two-song offering as "a perfect marriage of K-pop and A-town trap." The group's tightly curated catalog also includes their debut EP Square Up, a June 2018 release that shot to #40 on the Billboard 200 and #1 on the Billboard World Albums chart. Several months after Square Up hit the charts, YG Entertainment and Interscope Records announced a global partnership for BLACKPINK, paving the way for the group's international breakthrough. That same month, BLACKPINK appeared as a featured artist on Dua Lipa's "Kiss and Make Up"—an October 2018 release that's garnered over 164 million streams on Spotify.

To feed the fan frenzy for their high-energy pop and irresistibly bold visuals, all four members have begun working on solo material that runs parallel to BLACKPINK's output but spotlights their distinct personalities (including Jennie's recent single "Solo," a #1 hit on the World Digital Song Sales chart). With their fast-growing following now including 19 million YouTube subscribers, 15 million Instagram followers, and 14 million monthly listeners on Spotify, BLACKPINK are currently traveling the globe on the In Your Area tour: an arena-sized run bringing their larger-than-life performance to audiences throughout North America, Europe, Australia, and Asia.

I went on August 12, 2023 with my friend, getting thru security was easy and getting seated was quick. They had a lot of merch booths, and food stands. I had such a blast at the concert!!

    Best concert ever

    by Anahi on 1/3/24

The start off this was me and my sisters first concert ever and it was the best especially since my mom is a blink too it was a blast!!! Their stage presence is out of this world! They’re insane performers who know how to cheer up a crowd. The outfits that they had were so pretty especially the 2nd one that they have never worn before so it was mind blowing seeing them, their solo outfits were so pretty too. The crowd was amazing and Lisa’s “Everyone SILENT!” was crazy since a lot of people went silent. BP are so gorgeous like I can’t believe it, so when they appeared in the big screen it was shocking to see how beautiful they look in real life! Also can’t forget that Las Vegas turned the city pink so they could welcome BP which was amazing. I would love to go to a BP concert and see them again đŸ–€đŸ©·

    A tad disappointing

After a long time waiting for The Concert, it finally came. I was beyond excited to see my fav4. During the pandemic they had such an amazing online concert that I honestly didn't expect any less from these queens on the live tour. One thing that really surprised me was that the venue was not sold out, there were empty seats all around me and boring adults who spent the whole concert sat like couch potatoes. What a waiste! I danced all throughout having the time of my life. I did my best to enjoy, after all, it was my very first time seeing them live. They had little to no interaction with the audience, a smile and a wave here and there. Among them, there was no chemistry anymore, it was as if each one of them had to go through some bearable torture. Lisa on the other hand had a smile that went from beginning to end and she was so sweet and energetic giving back our money's worth. Do I need to mention the amount of times that Jenny stepped out? Anyway, Jisoo... well, I'm biased, she is my favorite memeber and she was adorable, and energetic as she could be, bless her heart, dancing is just not her thing. Rose had such a presence where you can literally see pasion at work, this woman left her heart there while doing her solo and with the members. A dedicated entertainer. One thing I noticed was the camera work, it was fun, dinamic, and the huge screens made the concert enjoyable in such a way, because we you focused on just seeing them on the stage, it was a whole different story. Their choreography and stamina was kind of calculated and limited so that the cameras could make you feel like the dance moves were actually fierce and dinamic when it was actually light and smooth. As if you would watch some video that became a 100x better with the camera work and transitions cause thing was boring. The dancers they had were amazing, they lit up the house and it's a shame cause people were there to see BP and not an amazing crew of dancers that ate and left no crumbs behind!! It was a bit dissapointing, because it's the biggest most amazing iconic girl group in kpop, my expectation was perhaps too high. This year I had seen other girl groups live Mamamoo, GIdle, Twice, New Jeans. And when I finally made it to BP's, yes, I was beyond happy but I need to be critical. BP has the followers and the platform for innovation, selling, and much more, but this concert felt like they didn't deliver, they just had to get to their next paycheck and be gone for another 2 years. It's sad tho. I hope that with the contract renewal things really change for the best and they keep being the consolidated icons in kpop.

    LIFE CHANGING

    by sara on 11/25/23

When I tell you will not have another experience like this one I MEAN it. I could feel the emotion in the room I got goosebumps and I was shaking nonstop from excitement. Born to perform, I have no regrets the best day of my life.
