If you plan to just sleep after the special event like Vivid or New Year, this is a great escape from the crowd and traffic. However, don’t expect much. The room is not that clean, shared bathroom and loud noise.

Pros (+) location was fantastic pub was fantastic new this before been many times.
Cons (-) rooms were tired no a/c they were what you expect for a pub stay but will be getting a major reno soon so possibly won't be at such a good price next time

Pros (+) Great location, 25 George St. About 10 min walk from Circular Quay station. Easy roam back into the Rocks , to the Harbour Bridge and the OPera House. The hotel is a 1914 Irish pub, so old and rustic with atmosphere, not sterile, which we liked. Excellent food. Nice and comfortable room (but old). Big ensuite. Very quiet despite its location. Cons (-) The hotel is a 1914 Irish pub, so old and in need of some maintenance. Stayed in room 17. Very nice room and big ensuite but the ensuite needed a number of maintenance items and could have been cleaner. Lots of stairs to negotiate. They claim Wi Fi but very dodgy. TV reception was poor and any connection was difficult.

Pros (+) Great location and nice staff the little we saw from them.
Cons (-) Smelly rooms with lots of mosquitoes (?!) at night. How they get in was a riddle to us. A lot louder music from the pub than we expected. Walls and windows haven’t been cleaned in a long while

It's very rundown accommodation, wallpaper hanging off the walls, stains all over the carpet, very old shabby furnishings, old shared bathrooms that are dates but work, although a pretty grim stay overall. Wouldn't recommend staying here unless you were desperate.
