Beautiful Stories From Anonymous People
1 phone call. 1 hour. No names. No holds barred. Thats the premise behind Beautiful Stories from Anonymous People, hosted by comedian Chris Gethard (the Chris Gethard Show, Broad City, This American Life, and one of Time Outs 10 best comedians of 2015). Every week, Chris opens the phone line to one anonymous caller, and he cant hang up first, no matter what. From shocking confessions and family secrets to philosophical discussions and shameless self-promotion, anything can and will happen! Theme song by Shellshag.

My favorite podcast!

I’ve been listening since the beginning and this is my all-time favorite podcast. I love it because it feels like having a chat with a couple of friends. Chris does a great job asking interesting questions and digging deep. Love the funny episodes, too, though. (Every time an amateur comedian is on the show, they hit it off with Chris and things get extra entertaining.) Because each caller brings a different story and energy, some episodes will probably speak to you more than others. I recommend getting to know the show by listening to 2-3 episodes — you’ll start to understand the spirit of the show, and I hope you’ll enjoy it as much as I do.

C.G. Holds It Down

When the caller is on, he on. When the caller is off, you won’t notice, cause he’s on. His patience is uncanny. When the caller is on with CG, CG is doubly on cause the masses tend to be….ya know…CG Pod Goat🚀🚀🚀

Does anyone else get the feeling this woman “wrote” this story?
Great show, but…

You have a pizza shop. You make really good pizza. You have a cult following that loves your pizza. Don’t try to satisfy people who want you to sell tires. Don’t feel bad that you don’t make tires. Your pizza loving fans don’t want tires. Keep up the good work… but keep making pizzas. I’ve been listening since day one, but I recently heard Chris’ comments about people who complain that the show isn’t something else. Even if you start to “sell tires,” those folks aren’t coming to get them. They just want to complain about something. Continue to satisfy your pizza customers by selling pizzas.
Let’s go Brandon!

Don’t platform hate

Chris’ podcast is a beautiful one, filled with humanity, encouragement, and humor, and packed with the authenticity that Chris brings. Please don’t platform hate in the name of addressing criticism. Not every show is for everyone, and if Chris’ politics aren’t for you, you’ll find plenty that are.
Holds were barred

Was intrigued by the concept of a defined call (referring to having a specific theme for a call). But either the vetting or the conversation needed to be stricter, as the outcome I feel like probably didn’t have the impact wanted. I left the episode with a “yeah, sounds about right” feeling. Otherwise other episodes are great.
