My sister had one of these and we loved the ice so much my husband and I decided we wanted one.  I found this one for about $200 less than she paid for it and it exactly the same everything that she has.  We love how long you have ice in your glass compared to the ice in your ice maker.  It's amazing.  If you decide you want one I say go for it and will not be disappointed.

Absolutely love it!!!

My family and I are super obsessed with this ice maker. I debated buying it for some time but after researching and asking family and friends about their ice makers I settled on the opal 2.0 with the tank. We go through a lot of ice as a family and this ice maker does not disappoint. There is a constant supply thanks to the tank, we are a family of 5 and always have enough, my neighbors even come over to get ice.

Obsessed!

Bought this for my wife, she wanted one for a while. She now uses it several times a day for all of her ice needs.
Very quiet when it runs, and it keeps the bin full at all times. I have only used distilled water in since I heard that is what is best for it. I think we've ran about 4 gallons of water through it so far, and it makes great ice.
It is a bit on the expensive side, but seems to be well worth every penny.

Excellent Nugget Ice

I love this ice maker! The only thing I would dislike would be the noise. It makes a loud noise when it runs out of water, and it also blows a fan while creating the ice. But I would still rate this ice machine with five stars because the ice that it makes is perfectly soft and just like the sonic ice! My friends all ask for a cup of ice when they come for a visit!

Best ice machine!

This is the 2nd time we've purchased this ice machine.  We love it. My kids use it every day vs the refrigerator ice.  It's produces enough ice for parties when our regular refrigerator can't keep up.  Guests love the sonic ice. 
Only complaint is cleaning it takes a while and it takes up counter space on the bar but we love it. The first one we purchased we didn't keep up with cleaning it so I think that was our fault.

Love this ice machine

I LOVE Sonic ice and buy bags of it for parties all the time.  I no longer need to do that because this gem makes wonderful sonic ice and it makes plenty!  I bought a cheaper smaller one first and was
Constantly having to empty into a bag to
Put in my freezer and refill water.  I sent it back
And decided to spend more to get This GE gem!  We love it! It's perfect and will pay for itself over time since we will no longer have to buy bags of sonic ice for parties.  NOTE: Definitely spend the extra and get the side water well it's worth it!

Great Icemaker

The ice maker worked good for three months and then it stoped making ice. It went to the add more water cycle even thought it has plenty of water. I cleaned it like the manual said and still would not work. I unplugged it for several hours and still didn't work. I'm am really disappointed that such a costly appliance only worked for so little time.

Only worked for three monts

I ordered a brand new product with the side tank, the item showed up with no side tank, and a box marked refurbished, the item was dented scratched damaged and had obvious water use previously. I tried to message the seller first they made no attempt to make it right just told me to return it which also turned into a huge ordeal and left me lugging a 50 pound ice machine 40 minutes away to our nearest Walmart and I’m still not refunded. I then ordered the newer version from Best Buy and it was delivered the next day. Will never use the cellar again

Awful, buyer beware, do not buy

Packages came delivered by Fed-ex covered in dirt, an extra piece of cardboard taped to the box. Opened the box and found that the ice makers had a whole punched through the side with appeared to look like it fell off something or a fork lift punched through the side or the machine. Walmart is sending us a replacement machine. Will update once second machine is revived. Wish us luck!
