We commissioned this wine from our winemaking team in Oz to push the limit on the massively popular Albacore red and they have delivered in spades. This lavish creation has all the hallmarks of a top wine; beautifully textured, layered and lush fruit that fills the mouth, as well as a classic Aussie richness of fruit. It will also cellar well for at least a decade leaving you, at the end (should you make it), with a much more gastronomic and complex beast. Try it (at any time) with rare beef.

This Mendoza beauty is made from 3 separate parcels of Malbec: one close to the town, one on the valley floor and one on the sought after slopes of Mount Tupungato. All are long-established, family owned sites. They are then masterfully blended by Stephen resulting in a wine choc-full of ripe blueberry and bramble fruit with a dash of spice, a rich mouthfeel and a beautifully long finish.

The noble French variety Cabernet Franc is making a bit of noise and a name for itself over in Chile and we love its freshness and energy. This blend of grapes is rarely found outside of Australia, and they have become the masters of it. An iconic duo of green, herbaceous Semillon works well with the rounded, soft citrus fruit of Chardonnay. This isn't the tropical fruit bomb that you might expect from an Aussie white but altogether something a little more reserved, classy and elegant.

As you walk the streets of South Africa's Cape Town, you may hear someone say the word Lekker. This distinctly South African word is used to describe something which is enjoyable. Therefore, when we tasted this Cabernet Sauvignon, we knew this wine was Lekker. So, we had to name it just that! Packed with bold ripe red fruits and well-integrated tannins. This is one to be enjoyed either on its own or with a juicy steak.

Here, winemaker Eric Lanxade expertly balances this blend of perfumed Gros Manseng with racy Colombard and everyone's favourite: zippy Sauvignon Blanc. There is plenty of fruit interest here, with lemon barley, apricot and quince flavours to create a mouth-watering and highly alluring tipple. In fact, it's fresher than a dip in the English Channel in January!

This is one of Italy’s sacred white varietals, indigenous to Campania, which has unusual notes of orange blossom and herbs. This example has a wonderful structure, is light enough to cover a diversity of foods but white fish and prawns are perfect. An exciting alternative to Pinot Grigio.

This lovely fruit-filled French red was blended without appellation constraints and when given a blank canvas to work with, it can yield some exciting and surprising results. It is a wine built on a base of lovely Grenache that bring fresh raspberry and ripe strawberry fruit and then, layered on top, come Syrah and Carignan but the finishing touch was given to the wine by adding a proportion of wonderfully rich and silky plummy Merlot. An unpretentious red that is fruity and jolly.

We wanted to create a French wine brand, using a label design that avoided the traditional cues you might expect - grandiose chateaux, gold and silver crests and, of course, medieval font type - were all banned! Our design team worked with a blank canvas (une toile vierge) and this colourful paint brush image captured what our buyer had in mind perfectly. A crisp and refreshing white wine with excellent intensity. Notes of white grapefruit and floral hints mingle before a tangy, mouth-watering finish. Crafted exclusively from Rolle in an engaging and modern style.

Our search for a great value Sangiovese naturally took us straight to central Italy, but less predictable was unearthing a small parcel of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. After a few hours at the blending table we have managed to capture the best of all varieties with classic Sangiovese character accompanied by depth and richness from the Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. With rich violet and plum notes, it is the perfect partner to roasted red meat or tomato based pasta.

Just like our local Skipper, as we were scouring the latest Australian vintage, we came across this small parcel of Sauvignon Blanc. Our own hidden gem! Bright and lively in the glass, a wonderful balance of herbaceous passionfruit, tropical fruit and a zesty finish makes this a delicious tipple for all occasions.

Trying to capture a sense of purpose through a wine name is a tricky one, but when we started this project with Winemaker Lodewyk Botha, we knew that we wanted to focus on what's important when crafting wines with character and substance. We settled on Amava Vines: 'Amava' translates to 'roots' and links to heritage, tradition, and staying connected to one's origins. This multi-varietal white pulls on the individual characters of the varieties to create a joyful, fruit-filled, and complete wine that has a focussed finish with just a little lingering spice. Great chilled on its own or with light dishes.
