The HART 160 PC. Mechanics Tool Set has all the essentials you need for basic auto repair and home maintenance—and then some! I usually use another more expensive brand but thought I would give these a shot. And I'm glad I did. This tool set comes with just about everything you can need for a beginner basic set. I usually just use the half inch drive sockets for automotive and these have held up flawlessly. The ratchet is not cheaply made. You can use it in tight spots it has the drive for it. I have put some serious torque on these things at least the half inch drives and none of them failed no cracks nothing. Have not had a chance to use the bit set but from the looks of it it has just about anything you'll need in it. The container is a little difficult to open but it needs to be that way so that the tools don't come falling out everywhere so I'm happy with it I would recommend it to anyone looking for a beginner set.

Nice tool set nice container

This set is a good starter set of tools. It has most of the sockets you need. It has a 1/4"and 3/8" drive set which includes short and deep well sockets in standard and metric along with a 3" extension and a 3/8" to 1/4" adapter. It also has a nut driver set and driver handle. It has standard and philips screw driver bits with torx, square and allen. It also has a regular set of metric and standard allen wrenches. It has 3 spark plugs sockets 5/8",3/4" and 13/16". All of the sockets and nut drivers are 6 point which I really like. The rachets are fine tooth and feel quality made. It all comes neatly organized in a plastic tool box. I recommend this set.

Nice little set.

The HR 160P MECH BOX SET is an impressive tool set. I have a lot of tools and this is the first time I've had the chance to use the Hart brand. I am totally impressed with the quality of these tools. The finish on there are as good if not better then some of the big brand names! With both metric and SAE this set has you covered for smaller jobs. From 1/4 inch to 3/8 inch size sockets. Included in this set are some 1/4 inch bits that are torx and various screw driver blades that come in handy. There is also a set of allen wrenches in metric and SAE. All of this 160 piece set is contained in a nice ASB type tough plastic 2 drawer box. Whether you want a starter set or you just need a nice compact tool set, I would certainly consider this Hart brand.

Nice Quality

Tool set

There are many things that I like about this tool set. This 160 piece mechanics kit contains just about everything you need to complete a repair of common types. It comes with a multi tooth ratchet that is like a magic wand for me. I tested it on the rear side of my car engine, to get to those very tight place spark plugs. These are the spark plugs that are skipped by a lot of home mechanics, due to the impossible amount of space to work in. The ratchet went on the plug and had about 4 degrees to turn with. It turned like a charm and brought those plugs out. It comes with a small ¼” ratchet and all of the sockets of its size. These come in handy when working on anything inside the vehicle or ATV. The small set is the primary set for working on things inside the home, such as; washing machine, dryer, and refrigerator, stove and so on. Having this inside the toolbox, in it's own storage drawer is wonderful. All of the sockets are housed in their own compartmental place. The lower drawer comes with a set of hex keys and a set of power driver bits. There is additional space available for your choice of items. The toolbox is made of a strong, durable plastic, which is practically indestructible. Everything is housed in a well thought out way with no wasted space. The long sockets as well as the spark plug sockets are housed inside the lid. If you are considering the perfect gift for someone who doe their own mechanical work, this is the one. Even if they already have a tool set, this is the perfect gift. It has a lifetime warranty. HART tools, are the up and coming brand of tool, and will align itself with some of the overrated brands out there, primarily because of the quality and durability. I'd recommend this tool set to anyone.

Everything needed in a toolbox

I am so pleased with this tool set from Hart. This company really makes some quality tools and I own several of them now. This is one of my favorites. The ratchets are high quality and there are two of them. One quarter inch and half inch drive, and also a wide selection of metric and SAE sockets both shallow and deep well. The ratchets operate smoothly and are high quality. II love the quarter inch set that slides out in its own drawer so you can take it to your project and everything snaps tightly in place to keep it organized. Along with all the sockets there are also a bunch of torx tools and a wide variety of various bits. There's also a little extra room in this tool case, a very nice heavy molded tool case, to keep some extra tools in. You won't be disappointed and it should last a lifetime!

Great kit to grab and go

This is a great, sturdy socket set that also comes with driver bits and an Allen wrench set. The tool box itself is heavy duty and well made. Latch closures are very sturdy for the bottom drawers. It's pretty heavy but would have everything you need in one place and it's all closed up...the sockets aren't flying around everywhere.

I've really found this kit handy keeping everything organized all in one durable container and do enjoy that it has metal clasps and a thick plastic exterior. Definitely the kit to buy on a budget especially for DIY automotive needs

Awesome beginner mechanic set!

I have purchased a couple of blowers and trimmers of this brand and they were great. When I got this toolbox and opened it up I was very impressed as well. I like how there's a little cover that can go over the top shelf when the lid closes to hold everything in also the bottom drawer has a little bit of extra room for me to put a couple of my own tools in that is very convenient my only complaint on this whole thing at all and it's very small is the straps that hold the lid from rocking all the way backwards they are great right now and I imagine they work sufficiently however my only question will be is to see how they hold up in 10 15 20 years will those straps still be sufficient to hold that lid from rocking backwards. However the sockets and the ratchet are built of high quality and the ratchet teeth feel very solid I would highly recommend this product to my family and friends
