I haven't purchase this yet but did come up with a solution to your problem (possibly). If it doesn't have point then just look around auto parts stores for just the right funnel. Cut to fit the hole and drop it in. You'll need the angle of your pole's point prior to purchasing funnel.

will this work on a tree that has a pole that is flat on the bottom (not-pointed)?

i purchased this after Christmas but am looking forward to using it next year. i place my tree in the stand and it circles slow enough that will help me when I put  the lights on next year as well as see all the ornaments on the "whole" tree!!!

helpful for trimming the tree

A rotating stand so your Christmas tree is constantly turning is the best discovery ever!! I love being able to see all my ornaments and it rotates slow enough to enjoy every bit of decoration! This has three different size options for tree bases to fit which is also nice! Best investment!

What an awesome option!!

This tree stand worked great! I liked having the ability to turn off rotation without turning off my tree's prestrung lights. The kit included adapters for smaller tree "trunks" as well. My recommendation to anyone purchasing is to make sure your tree is fully in the stand (and snug) before starting the rotation feature! Thanks :)

Works great! Easy to assemble!

I love the effect and it was easy to set up.  Only thing is that it makes a noise about every 30 seconds.  I do love being able to see all the ornaments in the whole tree.

Motor stopped working 2 hours after starting the device. It was disappointing to not have a rotating tree which I have loved in previous years.  This tree stand did not work. Vendor made the refund in a fair amount of time but still disappointing.

Disappointed

My tree leans heavily with the slightest touch. If it is rotating, it keeps shifting left %26 right, back %26 front, depending on where it is in the rotation. Then, after using it for a couple of days, the rotation function started becoming very jerky, and it would stop sometimes. Afraid to use it!  I contacted Customer Service almost two weeks ago and they said they forwarded my comments and questions to the seller and I should be hearing something back in 25-48 hours. Still nothing!  Very disappointed!
