Rokkatei Marusei Butter Sand are a buttery sandwich-type of cookies filled with raisins and a butter based cream from Hokkaido.

These Hokkaido butter raisin cookies are inspired by the concept of "Marusei Butter", the first butter ever made in Tokachi (a sub-prefecture of Hokkaido). The smooth, rich sweetness of the cream made with Hokkaido’s exceptional butter alongside the sourness of the raisins is an incredible match.

This long-selling Japanese sweet was first released in 1977 to celebrate the launch of the company's new name Rokkatei and have become a classic souvenir of Hokkaido.

The cookies are also popular for its retro package.
