The Detour was more than bright enough for me riding around on LA's city streets. I wished the lights would stay on longer at the higher lumen settings. I also wished the mounting bracket came with a choice of what size rubber bushing comes with it for handlebar sizing. I had to buy the smaller sized handlebar bushings. Now I have three large bushings I will never use.

My experience with bicycle lights goes back to when they took AA batteries, didn't produce adequate light,and ran out of power quickly, for years I just relied on good night vision and no lights!Fast forward to the modern day,the market is flooded with rechargeable bicycle lights,most are ok and somewhat do the job.Most of my rides take place at all hours of the night,I live in the north eastern part of the US,I ride all year round,regardless of temp and road conditions. As I write this review we coming out of a long,cold,and dark winter.The road conditions are treacherous at this point of the season,potholes,salt,and loose gravel everywhere!I chose the "detour " from Outbound Lighting, it is the BEST light I've ever ridden with!,I can see all the treachery on the road in the darkest of night!,A good friend of mine recommended this company Outbound Lighting to me,he's an avid mountain biker who does alot of night riding in the woods,he absolutely loves his light.The sales and service of this company is top notch!,Anyone would be foolish to choose another brand.

Rock Solid Mounting
A good light isn’t so good if
it’s bouncing up and down on the bars all the time. That’s why we made a bolt-on clamp mount for Detour so it’s solidly locked to the bar, With a simple shim it adapts from 35mm to 31.8mm handlebars (25.4 and 22mm shims available) and the beam won’t shake around like lights with rubber strap mounts do.

USB-C pass-Thru Charging
We were one of the first to offer USB-C charging as standard, except we took it a step further by offering pass-through charging as well. This lets you plug in any USB power bank and charge the light while in use,

Keeping Cool
When you pick up this light you might be surprised to not feel any metal. Plastic?! Must be something we used to be cheap isn't it? Far from it. This material we use is an incredibly cool (ha) engineered resin that is not only very durable, but also conducts heat. The result is a lightweight, durable, and thermally balanced light housing.
