12 microbes of your choice, cross stitched into an 8x10 sampler
---The Story---
GERMS! They're everywhere. You can't avoid them, not entirely -- so why not incorporate them into your decor?
If you're into science, or just germs, or cleanliness, or if you're a hypochondriac, you might like to see your interests/worst fears immortalized in stitchwork. Luckily, now you can.
In fact, now you can do it TO THE MAX.
This listing is for a sampler set of 12 microbes stitched onto a large piece of off-white Aida cloth and ready for you to frame. The examples shown includes a true mix-and-match of everything from E. Coli to Penicillium mold (first 2 photos) and a sampler made up entirely of STDs (third and fourth photos), but your sampler could include any 10-12 of the microbes available in the shop. The layout and even color palette (to some extent) can be approved and finalized by you before the stitching begins, if you like.
If you'd like to include microbes that aren't yet patterned, convo me in advance (preferably with a good microscopic image or two, or a link to the same) so we can discuss any resulting slight change in pricing or shipping time. Patterning time for new microbes is in addition to the usual stitching time for this piece (which is about a month).
---The Deets---
These are part of a series of microbe and germ cross stitches that feature a variety of brightly-colored microscopic viruses/bacteria/etc each stitched on white Aida cloth and typically framed in 3" natural wood hoop frames. Find more in the Microbes and Germs section of my shop.
The microbes pictured represent some of the microbes currently available but not nearly all of the ones you can choose from to complete the set of 12 that will fit in this sampler. Check out the Microbes and Germs section for examples of finished versions, and the Cross Stitch Patterns section of my shop to look over the patterns.
*CUSTOMIZE: You choose the 10 to 12 microbes you'd like included in this sampler. The layout and color palette (to some extent) can be approved and finalized by you before I start stitching.
*FRAME: I have a very limited number of 8x10 secondhand frames available, and most are used for photo-taking purposes only. Please plan on having your sampler framed after it arrives unless we discuss it in advance and I find that I happen to have a good quality frame available for your project! See my shop policies also for more information on frames and how I use them in my shop.
You may choose to receive an 8x10 self-stick mounting board with your unframed sampler if you will be framing it yourself. If you plan on having the sampler professionally framed, the mounting board will be basically useless to you, so feel free to decline it by selecting "No thanks" from the drop-down menu at checkout, or note whether you'd like the mounting board included or not in the notes to seller.
Typically, I won't cut the fabric to size or mount or frame it before sending it along; that way, if you decide against the 8x10 frame, you will easily be able to opt for professional framing, or for the frame/mat combo of your choice -- and if you do decide to use the mounting board and frame it yourself, it's a simple matter of 5 minutes to properly stick the fabric onto the board.
*SHIP: This sampler will be made to order and sent via USPS Priority mail or international USPS First Class mail within about a month of your order, unless I convo you otherwise or increased lead time is mentioned in my shop policies, banner or announcements (main shop, below the banner).
If you need your germs shipped sooner, contact me and let me know when you'd need them by. Chances are good I'll be able to get them to you in time unless you need them for Christmas and you're reading this less than a month before the last mailing day before Christmas (usually two days before the holiday) or later (in which case you can start the Monthly Microbe subscription of 12 separate hoops, and give a card that says "Monthly Microbe Subscription" and it will all be an awesome mystery until January).
If you are an international customer, please be aware that an item of this size and value will likely incur some customs fees, and that you will be responsible for tracking it down at your local customs office if it is held there. You are also responsible for all duties, fees, and other customs requirements; I cannot pay those on your behalf, and I will not lie on customs forms.

I am no kind of medical expert, and anything I know about the microbes in this series of stitches or that I appear to know, I learned from the internet. : ) NO PART of my listings or any other ramblings should be construed as ANY KIND of medical advice, because it's not. My only relevant expertise is in cross stitching!
