How do I transfer my number to EE?

Joining a new network needn’t mean learning a new number. It’s simple to transfer your old one to EE. We will text you when the number transfer has started and you'll receive another message when the transfer is complete.

How do I transfer my old number to my new EE plan?

It’s easy. Once we've delivered your new device or SIM, here's what you need to do:

  1. Get your PAC code
Call your previous mobile provider and ask for it. As long as the number is still active then they will be able to generate your PAC code. Once you’ve got it, it’s valid for 30 days.

If your number is no longer active, your previous provider may allow you to reconnect for a short time in order to provide you with your PAC code but this would be at their discretion.
  2. Activate your new SIM
In most cases your SIM card will be pre-activated. If not, simply follow the instructions received with your SIM pack.
  3. Keep the number that came with your new SIM handy
You may wish to use this until your old number moves over to EE.

For iPhone users: if your number has ported in then you may be required to update the ‘My Number’ setting on your device. Go to Settings > Phone > My Number > Insert correct mobile number

Do I need to do anything with my phone before my number’s transferred?

It’s a good idea to save all your contacts. You can either:

  • copy your contacts from your SIM to your phone and, when the transfer’s done, copy the contacts back to your SIM
  • or back up contacts (and any other content) to the cloud, if you’re using a smartphone, and restore the content to your new device

Please note: the steps may vary slightly depending on the model of your device.

How long will it take to transfer my number?

If you submit the form before 5.30pm on a working day, we will endeavour to have your number transferred the following working day.

If your request is made after 5.30pm, or made on a weekend or bank holiday, your number will take two working days to transfer.

Please allow time for us to complete your request. For example, if you submit your details at 5.25pm this may not allow us quite enough time to complete for the following working day. However, we will do our best to transfer your number in a timely manner.
