About
Sunny Sweeney is a country artist from Longview, Texas. After independently releasing her debut album Heartbreaker’s Hall of Fame (which was later reissued by Big Machine Records in 2007), the singer-songwriter eventually became the first artist signed to Republic Nashville in 2009. She scored her first hit on the country charts with her major-label debut single “From a Table Away.” Sweeney’s sophomore full-length, Concrete, was released in 2011 and featured minor hits “Staying’s Worse Than Leaving” and “Drink Myself Single.” At the time, the singer also earned a nomination for New Female Vocalist of the Year at the 2012 Academy of Country Music Awards. Sweeney later parted ways with both Big Machine and Republic Nashville and turned to direct-to-fan platform PledgeMusic to release her third album, 2014’s Provoked. Two more LPs — 2017’s Trophy and 2022’s Married Alone — and a live album have followed.
