About this property

A River Cottage for Every Season

This little gem sits right on the Siuslaw River, with amazing views out of every window. The Cottage has one bedroom with a queen bed, bath, kitchen and large living area that has a sleeper sofa for an additional two people. The Siuslaw River is known for Salmon and Steelhead fishing in the winter, and trout fishing year-round. A short drive into Florence makes it a great base camp for day trips up and down the coast, or exploring the nearby hills and streams.
Whether fishing in the fall and winter, getting away from the bustle of life, a romantic getaway, exploring the nearby beaches, or just spending time with the family - this spot has something for everyone all year long.
There are three houses on this property that can be rented out individually, or together for a larger group. Each house is free-standing and independent - each has it's own deck and dedicated parking area, only outdoor grassy areas and river frontage are shared. The property is long and narrow, with the houses up by the river.
The two properties are a combined 1.25 acres, with all three house up close to the river - neighbors properties are similarly situated with minimal fencing. The house is about 3.5 miles from downtown Mapleton, where there is a local restaurant, bar, store and coffee shop. Florence is 17 miles away, where you can find groceries, shopping, and beach adventure.
The Siuslaw runs out into the Pacific, so you can put a kayak or canoe in the water from the cottage, or put a larger boat in at the boat ramp down the road.

There is no cell service at the house, but we have wifi and a landline. Wifi is typically 20-25 mbps, which is usually plenty for streaming a movie over the ROKU.

About the host

I love meeting new people, and helping them create a vacation or getaway that they'll always remember. We've put a lot of heart and soul into creating a space that is cozy and enjoyable.

Why they chose this property

The moment I saw this property, I knew it was what we'd been looking for. It's everything you'd want from a river vacation house, and then some. I absolutely love the mountains, and the river is just the right one - in the winter, it's teaming with fish, and you can watch the leaves change on the surrounding mountains, and in the summer, it's shallow enough to get in and catch crawdads.

I truly could sit and watch the world from this property, and be completely content.

What makes this property unique

It sits on the Siuslaw River and is surrounded by coastal mountains. It's 17 miles to Florence for beach activities, or stick around and explore the hills, trails and streams.
