Excellent hotel in a brilliant location

We got moved to The Tower Hotel as the Barbican was closed , this was done without any extra expense to us. The hotel was fantastic and a good location

it was changed to the tower hotel was great but with me being in a wheelchair there was no way to get a shower or even a wash as bathroom was to small to fit the wheelchair in so I had to wet a towel and was in the room

My original booking was transferred from Shoreditch to Holborn due to hotel closure. The price I paid did not change which was fantastic as I actually found Holborn to be far more suitable location wise than my original booking. This hotel was very easily accessible from London Kings Cross using the London Underground to Holborn Station. I later realized that Tottenham Ct Road station is also with...
Sadly due to my reservation having been moved from one hotel to another, I did not get the benefit of breakfast being included in the price of my stay. This made me sad especially when I could smell it cooking on my way out each morning ;-) Seriously though, no complaints at all!Read more
Great view of the skyscrapers and St Katherine's Docks, nice colour scheme & pictures in the room. Comfy bed
The desk and bedside cabinet are clearly in need of replacement. The chair is too big to go under the desk, and in such a small room this is crucial. The wheel to the one corner of the bed was left exposed, and consequently I caught my little toe on it just after I'd had a bath. I was informed beforehand that the hotel was temporarily closed because of rising infections, so I was transferred to a hotel at Trafalgar Square. I was given a very warm welcome from the receptionist and check-in was quick and easy. Furthermore I was upgraded to a beautiful deluxe room at no extra charge. Thus, the location was amazing.?

We were transferred to the Guoman Tower Hotel, so comments apply to this hotel, not the Thistle. Staff were friendly and welcoming. We were given an Exec Double room although we were told at check in it would be a suite, so slightly disappointed, but the lovely view over the marina certainly made up for that, plus extras in the room that we weren't expecting at our original hotel, like a free mini...
The only negative would be the shower (over the bath) the water pressure was poor.Read more

The location, the ambience and the food.
Given the challenges around Covid, our expectations were not high. However, we were extremely pleased with the location of the hotel and easy access to anywhere in London. The staff were very friendly and helpful at all times, despite the pressures they were under - they went out of their way to help in every situation. Our room size and facilities within the room were good - no complaints at all ...
Our room was a bit dusty - it didn't appear to have been cleaned recently due to a fine layer of dust - but I feel that is being picky! The only other slight grumble was that the coffee, tea, sugar and so on was not always replenished - but when we asked - it was provided. So again, a bit picky probably.Read more
