Nike’s skateboarding division is paying tribute to baseball legend Ken Griffey Jr. with its latest SB Dunk Mid, inspired by none other than the Air Griffey Max 1 “Freshwater.”

Originally launched in 1996 and subsequently re-issued in 2016, the sneaker combined a “Freshwater” blue paired with black contrasting panels and pristine white highlights, a color scheme emblematic of the Seattle Mariners for which Griffey Jr. played. Adopting the same colors, the current SB Dunk Mid sees turquoise blue body panels by the toebox, laterals, and around the ankle, while black suede overlays adorn the toe, laceguards, the heel counter, as well as the strap across the tongue. Its white elements then come in the form of the Swoosh logo by the midfoot, its laces, and the smaller Swoosh logo on the toebox, an extra touch no doubt inspired by the Air Griffey Max 1.

There’s currently no release date or pricing information for the Nike SB Dunk Mid “Griffey Jr.,” but reports suggest it’ll hit skateshops and The Canteen sometime in April.

Elsewhere in sneakers, ASICS paints it Metaride in triple black.
