Great boombox

I've had this radio a month now, and am very happy with it.  I've read the critical reviews on this, and people need to realize that this is a $100 boom box, not a home theater system!  The sound is good, the bass picks up, as you turn the volume up.  The two speakers are on the front, while the two “soft” bass speakers are on the sides.  I like how the display lights up the radio station, unlike others that do not.  It does not display the time, however.  The radio works fine, as does the CD and blue tooth features.  I've not yet tried the other features, as I bought this to listen to the radio, while doing wash in our basement.  Although, you can't fine tune the sound, it does have different sound type options (Jazz, Flat, Classic, Rock, and Pop).  The disco lights are a bit annoying, but can be turned off with the remote.  I like how you can preset radio stations.  It has a metal antenna, as opposed to the stringy type, that you would have to fasten up to something.  My only concern, is that the CD door snaps open, sometimes making a clicking noise.  So now, I hold my hand on the door, as it's opening, to prevent this.   When a good song comes on, I crank it up, and it sounds good!  Overall, I'm very pleased with it.

Love this! Sound is good and I like the fact that I haven't even opened the directions yet but I'm using cd, radio and usb. Probably will try Bluetooth later today. I'm super pleased.

Toshiba portable boombox

All functions work well. The sound is average for a Boombox with speakers the size. The bass will not rattle windows or anything, but the EQ settings do you help two adjust the sound to your liking. Good volume and my son thinks it looks cool.

Nice features and slightly above-average sound

Am so disappointed with Toshiba, this so-called "super bass boombox" has absolutely no Bass at all. I sent back mine after a day of use, if you buy it just like me you will be disappointed. overall cheap sound is not better than a 20$ dollar radio.

I bought this to replace my Sony CFD-758 which has worked great since 1993, but the LCD display is failing (still sounds perfect, but can't see what you are doing).  Anyhow, the reviews on this Toshiba looked really good so I bought one.  The first thing you notice is the "disco lights", it's just an LED that turns on and off about 1 time per second, not tied in any way to the beat of the music - it's just sad, I turned it off entirely.  The sound quality is the real problem, it's horrible - particularly high frequencies, they sound "squeeky" and distorted.  There are only a couple of predetermined sound "modes" (no bass/treble), neither of which produced good solid bass.  And it is questionable if this is even manufactured by Toshiba, it seems to be manufactured by some other unknown company under license from Toshiba to use their name.  I sent this back as it is completely useless and unusable, I spent a bit more and went with a Bose Wave Music System IV.  It cost more than twice what I paid for this Toshiba, but it produces crystal clear sound with amazingly deep bass - all in a tiny footprint (perfect for my office).
