I rarely leave reviews, but this product is SO amazing that I just have to share my happiness with other people. After having the Skybell for over a year, we decided it was finally time to throw in the towel. We were always having constant issues with the Skybell's motion sensor... you could stand right in front of our doorbell camera, do jumping jacks, and it would record absolutely NOTHING! After many troubleshoots and a lot of frustration, we finally decided to exchange the Skybell for the Ring Doorbell and Chime Pro. Thank god for Best Buy's Geek Squad Protection. It allowed us to return the defective doorbell, and exchange it for this new MAGNIFICENT device. The audio and video on the Ring Pro is so clear and crisp. The motion sensor is amazing! It works, almost too good lol. Which I am not complaining about! You can adjust the sensitivity and select certain "zones" that you'd like to have motion picked up and recorded from. It comes with 4 different colored faceplates, that you can choose from to match the color of your home. It comes with 2 different wedge base plates to accommodate different angles for your front door, which we had to purchase separately when we had the Skybell. It comes with a masonry bit for easy installation into brick. The install and set up is so easy that a caveman can do it! Thank you again for making such an AMAZING product Ring! I will most certainly be adding more devices to our Ring family in the near future!

I got both the ring doorbell 2 and this pro edition with chime .
I was originally nervous about WiFi reaching the unit so that is why I got the chime bundle but I am getting great results without needing the chime !
The camera has a fish eye lense that sees down the entire street even though the camera is facing straight . Night quality is great too!
I am pleased . Only downfall is needing to subscribe to view recorded video . But I’m content with using the live view and motion settings and have no intention to pay a ridiculous service fee

So, I bought the Ring doorbell because of my Samsung family hub refrigerator purchase. Though the refrigerator hasn't arrived yet, due to backorder, I have enjoyed the ring doorbell, tremendously!
I didn't realize how much I would like the doorbell and how beneficial it is. 2020 has been difficult for many and its causing people to engage in more sinister acts.
So, one of the features that I like is the notification I receive when a delivery person drops off a package. They don't always ring the doorbell, alerting me of a package delivery. So, getting a notification and a short motion video of the delivery person arriving and dropping off a package is absolutely great. This way, I can walk to the door and grab my package before a thief does. Its also great for when I'm not at home, as I can head home because something of value has been delivered
I'm a Google home person, personally, but the RING doorbell came with an Amazon echo, for free. I set it up on my desk, so when I'm woeming from home and someone rings the doorbell, I can see who is at the door without having to get up and if I want I can talk to them from my desk, just incase its a solicitor. I really like that feature!
This particular model comes with a chime that you can plug into an outlet, to hear the motion detection or hear when someone presses the doorbell button. I placed mine in the garage, as the garage is where I do my laundry. So, just incase I have a package delivered or someone rings the doorbell, ill be notified. If youbhave the app, the notifications will sound on your phone and if you have any alexa product, then you'll be notified on those products.
Can't wait to pair it with the Samsung 4 door flex family hub!
Bottom line: I'm really enjoying the ring doorbell!

I purchased the pro because I didn’t want to mess with replacing batteries. Our house was built in the early 90’s & the intercom system was no longer working, which also meant no front doorbell. So I used the resistor from the intercom system along w/the existing wires to install. I had to cut & paint a metal plate for the existing metal box in the mortar from the previous intercom system. I can’t recall if Ring offers a universal plate or not, but i believe they do not. If you do a google search on how to install this product w/an old intercom system you will be told it’s not compatible, which it isn’t (at least to communicate over the system speakers) but you CAN use the resistor & existing wires. It’s really not that difficult.
I gave it a 4 star only because of the “subscription service” you must sign up for (at an additional subscription cost) to replay any earlier recorded video/motion at the front door. We have cameras installed which I can play back, so this wasn’t of value to me. Secondly the video they capture is on THEIR servers to do with what they want. I’ve read news articles of Ring using these videos inappropriately, but I’ve also seen where they provided great footage of potential crimes & can be easily shared w/the community. So, this is a user by user option & is a choice. The ring still works as a video doorbell w/o the subscription.
The delay in answering or communicating to someone at your front door is negligible & really unnoticeable.
I like that you can adjust the motion at the front door to minimize false alarms. The motion grid is very flexible & can be manipulated in so many different ways that it would be impossible not to set it up to eliminate false alarms.
Lastly my install had to go on the wall beside our front door, which the ring would be facing to the side of house vs outward to the front or street. The package came with plastic “wedges” of varying colors to match the front plate of Ring. I actually ordered & installed a different wedge from Amazon as it was adjustable gave more flexibility to set the best angle.
You can see an image of the install below. Hope this review helps w/any questions.

I went with the pro because I had a wired doorbell I was ready to replace. Wiring the camera outside was so easy. The new connector type for the inside bell was really easy to install too. My older doorbell was only 8 years old. My downside is after a month you're required to pay a monthly fee of $4 to have recordings. Else it's just a live camera you log into when alerts come through. The 3 sensor zones helped me work around an awkward view of having a moving flag and shrubs that were kicking off the motion sensor prior to setting. The video quality was excellent at day and night. I didn't need the Chime pro that came with the unit due to a strong wifi signal.

After the wife and I discussed options to switch to, to venture away from our current security setup....finally decided on Ring. We purchased 2 Ring Floodlight Cams and 1 Ring Doorbell Pro. We enjoy the motion notifications, the ability to instantly see the surroundings, 2 way talk, and being able to share saved videos of suspicious acivity with anyone.

This doorbell is so great! The ease of installation just blew me away. I am a woman in my thirties with very little electrical wiring experience and was able to remove my old doorbell, install the new one and have it all working in about 30 minutes' time. The app and directions walked me step by step through the process and it works perfectly. The performance of this doorbell is highly dependent on having a good wifi connection, so the Chime Pro really comes in handy to boost signal to avoid choppy video and frustration. The chime makes a pleasant sound when Ring senses movement in my designated motion zones. The four colors of faceplates included are an added bonus so you can color coordinate with your house color. I mounted this on a light fixture mounting block (found at Home Depot for $5) to get a nice flush installation. I really cannot say enough great things about this bundle. Don't wait!

I've been looking at video doorbell's for quite some time and with our masonry exterior and door trim only the Doorbell Pro would be an ideal fit (and look the best based on it's slim form factor). I had an original NuTone doorbell installed probably with the house back in the 60's with two wired locations (front door and garage service door. Of course it was on a 16V transformer....knowing this would be an issue I immediately upgraded to a 24V before installing.
The 1st doorbell was installed when I replaced my front door / threshold, etc. (Back in November 2019). Created my Ring account, powered up doorbell, scanned QR code, setup bell. It connected and worked for a day....then disconnected (the doorbell chime which came with this kit is still working to this day...no issues....).
Contacted Ring Support...went through power cycle, held reset for 30 seconds, waited one minute, etc., doorbell never came back online (dead, no power, lights, nothing). Replaced under warranty. 2nd doorbell worked till last week (February 2020).
Now 2nd doorbell same thing occurred (simply went dead yesterday off WIFI). No lights, nothing. Transformer works fine, doorbell through second switch (service door) works fine, Chime Pro still online on network. Contacted Ring Support, 3rd one now being shipped....should have next week....
This is a great doorbell when it works, motion is spot on (just humans...not cars), night vision is simply incredible, and app works well when people are at my front door....I'm a little disappointed in the reliability....I have yet to own this for one year and going on my 3rd bell in a little less than 5 months of use.....
A:I like to have the chime mainly for motion notifications. We have it set to wind chimes real soft just to let us know when there is motion because the doorbell doesn't ring for motion alerts. Alexa will also let you know when there is motion.
A:All Ring doorbells /cameras depend on a strong WiFi signal in order to work.
If the WiFi signal is weak, your doorbell/Camera will be offline.
"Events" are stored in the "cloud" for two months provided that you maintain a current subscription. First 30 days included. $ 30.00 per year thereafter.
You can download "events" at any time to your phone, computer, tablet, etc. for long term archival.
It does not "call" your phone. It notifies you of an "event" via a "pop up" to your phone, computer, tablet, etc.
A:I have a new one ring on my front door and ring I had my front do I moved it to my backdoor. how do I hook it up so I can have a ring doorbell on the back too. The one on the front works real good, I just want to sit up the one in the back door. I need help how to do it
A:My doorbell was sending "very good" power by simply booking up the doorbell and parts in the box. If your current doorbell doesn't supply enough power then you need to retire it or buy a new transformer. There are videos on YouTube showing how to rewire
A:Yes, they do charge for a cloud to store your videos, but they don't monitor. They offer a special for a year of service costing $30. The Ring pro is the better choice. I bought the lower priced one and returned it for the Pro.
