The grill does plug in yes, then once the control board powers on, there is an igniter down inside the fire pot that comes on and lights the pellets.

I like the grill, the ease of assembly and the easy cooking on the grill. However, the shipping was not as good. The item was "out for delivery" on the truck for three days... there were several holes in the box along with several dents in the grill housing and some missing hardware from within the box. Will think twice before ordering something like this again to be delivered.

PITBOSS!

Strongly and well built.
Bought mainly to smoke ribs and my first attempt turned out well so I am sure it will get even better.
Like it as the wood pellets are added electronically as needed so you do not have to sit by its side for 5  hours as you smoke ribs.
Experimenting using it for regular BBQ'ing too but too new to comment on that angle yet.

Though not feather light at about 70  pounds, they way it easily folds down to half its size makes me think it will also serve me well when I camp and travel as I keep it in the bed of my truck and then be bale to cook and eat like a king wherever I spend the night. Though you do need electricity but I will have my generator....

Good smoker; well-built

Very easy to put together and holds a pretty constant temperature. Smoked bacon, ribs, chicken breasts, pork chops, and pork shoulder which have all turned out great. Really enjoy how easy it is to just set the temp and walk away.

Grilling with ease

This is a well built portable smoker, it is not light, as it is a quality product, blows the competition out of the water with features. Locking lids for grill and hopper, holds a 20lb bag of pellets, super easy to raise/ lower, and easy to move around with suitcase handle and wheels. Love it Thank you.

Best portable pellet grill on  the market!

I'm a pit boss user and this travel smoker was a fail from arrival. FedEx delivered it damaged however, just bent a little so no biggie. Filled it with pellets turned it on, started to reach temp, fan quit, drastic temp drop, repeat constantly. Thankfully returned to Walmart for full refund. I like pit boss but this baby boss let me down!

Ok, got about 3 cooks off this and it just burned up.  It does not cook evenly and unfortunately Gave me error erh and burned off some paint.

Got this for Christmas. Put together Christmas and started burn off. Tried to smoke a turkey and kept overheating. Then flaming out. Set for 300 and temp would get to 350 then flame out all the way and drop to 100. Auger would not turn back on to sustain heat. Disappointing to buy a grill and have it not work right even once out of the box.   Might try another one to see if I got a bad one but not looking good.

Disappointed

Product damaged and when I tried to return to store, that was the biggest disappointment I have ever experienced. I will never, never use your online service at walmart.com. 
Never tested unit, I am not willing to pay full price for a damaged item.

Major Hassle

This is not a review of the product itself as I didn't even have the chance to assemble it to put it to use I'm sure the pellet grill would perform just as my Lexington 500 but that being said Walmart's advertised 2 day free shipping turned into almost a 10 day process 3 for processing and product of as supposed to arrive Friday March 26th it did not expected over the weekend it did not Sunday even get an email saying product will arrive Monday the 29th it did not finally it is Tuesday the 30th it showed up around noon I get off work excited to put it to use and upon unboxing it the brackets where the legs get mounted are dented and bent so needless to say product is getting sent back to Walmart and I'll spend my money elsewhere
