About LIFE

Hull, U.K. post-punk band Life are confrontational in their sound and their political opinions, channeling energetic, abrasive punk to take aim at society's ills. Brothers Mez and Mick Sanders originally played in the Neat, but that band imploded due to their youthful lifestyles and some drug-related issues. They regrouped in the mid-2010s as Life, with Mez on vocals, Mick on guitar, Stewart Baxter on drums, and Loz Etheridge on bass. They self-released their debut album, 2017's Popular Music, which earned them attention and momentum through mainstream radio play and some solid supporting tours for bands like Idles, who they met in a hotel lobby and became firm friends. After the dust settled on their debut, Etheridge parted ways with the band, replaced by Lydia Palmeira. Soon after, they signed to Afghan Moon, which released their second album, 2019's A Picture of Good Health. ~ Liam Martin
