db San Antonio Hotel & Spa

The Hotel was very nice, everything about the hotel was very good, Except for the drinks. I wish the hotel would train staff properly in how a drink should be served, for example the draught beer was served in a crystal glass you would only use for water, the glasses should have a headkeeper so the lager can fizz in the glass, In the main bar the draught wine was always warm never at the temperature it should be. yet in the Restaurant and coffee bar the wine was perfect, call me old fashioned but if my staff served the drinks in this way they would be looking for another employer!!! when I questioned the wine , my answer was put ice in it. say no more!!!!

Jet 2 were very efficient at the airport & we only had a slight delay on the return flight. Meals arrived as ordered. Hotel was very good, only down side was the main restaurant which was very noisy and crowded at times, the alternative restaurants for the evening were excellent. Food excellent in all restaurants. Views from rooftop pool and bar were excellent. Infinity pool under repair during our stay.

We stayed for a week and thought the hotel was lovely with a good choice of food at dinner. Our only complaint would be the time that you had to wait for the main lifts and that there was no working lift up to the childrens pool which was an issue when you have a buggy. All inclusive drinks were good value as well as there was a large selection available.

Booked to stay at the DB San Antonio via Jet 2. The hotel was lovely in a very convenient location. It was spotlessly clean, bed was comfortable, staff were friendly, polite and professional and the food was excellent. This was my second time in Malta and I have other places I'd like to visit in the world, however I wouldn't hesitate going back to or recommending this great hotel.

The hotel was very comfortable and clean. There was an excellent choice of restaurants within the hotel that could be booked in advance from the hotel computer. The no-children roof bar and pool was fabulous. I travelled to Malta previously and stayed in Sliema and Valletta. I decided to explore other regions and chose St Paul's Bay. To my horror it was a mass of cranes in operation and too many undesirable breeze block buildings. Pavements were dangerous and filthy with residents refuse in sacks blocking the footpaths. Buses were excellent and couldn't wait to get out of this region.

Confused...by the number of excellent reviews for this hotel! I'm certainly not a snob but have been lucky to have stayed in what I consider in some very good hotels in a similar price bracket... so not a professional moaner. I'm writing this review in the hope that others can spend their hard earned money on a holiday they can remember, for the right reasons. First the good: A good sized room with plenty of hanging space, free safe and provisons to make a hot drink. Room cleaned daily. Plenty of wall sockets. The staff clearing the tables in the restaurant work hard and are polite. Pool restrooms are clean and serviceable. Bad: I consider this to be an all inclusive hotel in name only. Only one of the main pool bars was open & understaffed; mainly just 1 member of bar staff on duty (sometimes 2) for over 1000 guests, so a long wait for drinks. The bar staff are slow and disinterested. When I asked for a slice of lemon for my drink I was informed they had non! I was astounded and had to insist that they get some and it turned out that it was easily to hand but only in half slices. Ice cream from the pool bar for the kids...no. Snacks round the pool...no. If you wanted these you had to get dressed and go into the main restaurant. My kind hearted mother commented that "the management don't seem to have good planning"...I think their planning is first rate...in saving money. The food in the main restaurant reminded me of a busy and poor staff canteen. We didn't starve but it wasn't enjoyable. Although weather wasn't roasting during our stay (27/5 - 1/6) the rooms were hot and humid but the hotel refused to turn on the air con despite me asking 3 times (twice via the Jet2 rep). Surely the decision on whether a room temperature is uncomfortable should be for the guest? The hotel will conveniently refer to the Malta Tourism Authority regulations but this seems to me more about saving money, as my daughter was staying at another hotel without these issues. We had to leave our balcony doors open overnight only to be woken by the pool cleaning staff literally throwing the sunbeds to one side so that they could mop the pool area. I am lucky though...I never have to return to this hotel...ever :-)

Fabulous hotel great location on the seafront plenty of bars and restaurants around. Small pebble beach. Some roadworks taking place did not affect our stay whatsoever. Food great selection at all mealtimes. Hot and well prepared. Standard drinks available. Rooms clean and modern stayed at front of hotel floor 3 a little noisy on an evening but was disturbed more by the usual inconsiderate UK guests having their kids running around and shouting late at night in the corridors (by the way I had children with me and are brought up to respect others sleeping) Anyone who rates this hotel at a one should stay at home in future. If we came back to Malta we would definitely stay here again.

Major civil engineering works being carried out , unpleasant staff reception , only three restaurants not seven , with only limited availability on two , the main restaurant is a battlefield , can't imagine what it's like high season , cockroach in bedroom , I could go on re time share salesman attached to hotel press ganging hotel guests to purchase time share , this is not a hotel I would recommend .

Bar staff very rude and all bars closed by11.30. Hotel was in the middle of a building site. Entertainment was rubbish. The beach was unusable because of building work and certainly not suitable for swimming.

value for money, practical. The evening entertainment was not always to my taste and not varied. It's a family hotel and the kids dominated. Also the alcoholic drinks seemed very weak. Other guests were noisy when returning in the evening.

From start to finish our holiday was excellent, room very spacious, freshly decorated, and cleaned daily. Food was excellent good variety, also choice of visiting other restaurants like Bistro which was excellent. Entertainment fab, staff were lovely, very attentive.

Just returned from a week at this hotel, first time we have stayed all inclusive and we were very impressed by the quality and variety of the food available, The hotel was extremely well maintained and our room was spotless, The staff were all very friendly and attentive and made us feel like truly valued guests. Special mention to Niraj and PK from the Pool bar and Bishney and Suman from the Kosy Bar, not to forget the glass collectors who worked constantly to keep the tables clear, We hadn't expected the evening entertainment which was fantastic,really appreciated the entertainers coming round to meet the audience at the end of the show. We would happily recommend this hotel and would stay there again.
