I am very impressed with this circular saw and the laser guide is a great option and makes for the perfect cut. It takes a few goes to get used to the feel of it but once that initial use is over then it is great.

This circular saw by Skil is great. It has a ton of power and it has a lazer-guided beam to track where you're cutting wood. I really like how it comes with a bag too and a saw blade. It's definitely one of my favorite tools because of how high-quality it feels and how well it cuts through wood. For a person like myself with a few DIY projects this was a great pickup. I'm really glad I bought this Skil circular saw and it has been more than worth it to me doing shelving around the garage and house.

Great 7 1/4 inch Circular Saw

It is a great tool for a homeowner for occasional use. I read an online review and found it in a class of tools costing 4-5 times more. While the online reviewer panned the usefulness of the laser I find it very useful. Great value.

Great value

I have used my Skil Saw to make shelving.  It cuts great.  The finer tooth blade I purchased works great with the saw and leaves very little if any scarring of the wood.  It is reasonably easy to use and produces great pieces.  If there is a problem it is with the lock that prevents you from pulling the trigger.  It is very unwieldy to me and makes me concerned that I might get clumsy with the saw just trying to start it cutting.

Skil Saw Quality Cuts

I really like this saw,the features like the laser guide, and the front sawdust blower are nice. I wish it would come in a left handed model, but for home improvement projects it's a good saw.

Skil 71/4 inch circular saw- 5280-01

When I started construction we had to make all cuts with a hand saw, being as times have changed I purchased the Sawzall to update my tools and offer faster services, it did not disappoint once I got used to the power of the tool. My cuts are clean and I don't have to spend 20 minutes per cut now, very grateful I decided to step into 2023. Go get one, and grab a circular saw while you're at it, my skill circular has a laser that helps me cut straight and fast also, grab both today!!

Yes its worth it

i needed a Circular saw, always avoided getting one, finally made the jump, sure glad i bought this one. it works for the usage that i will need. better than my jigsaw, and cutting by hand. (ouch)

cant go wrong!

I bought the saw to aid in the building of a pool deck, more specifically to cut stair stringers. I was attracted to this saw of the laser light, which in bright outdoors condition was not very  visible. The saw cut well and had plenty of power. The safety switch release button seemed a little awkward for me especially when cutting 4x4 post off. All in all very good for price

I've used the heck out of it in the six weeks or so that I've had it, and there are only two reasons why I can't give it 5 stars: the safety lock button is inconveniently placed, and the distance from the blade to the near side of the shoe (base/footplate/whatever Skil wants to call it) isn't remotely standard -- my best estimate is that it's about 1 13/32", so setting up a guide (to ensure a straight cut) is always a bit of an adventure.  But the blade was perfectly square right out of the box, no adjustments needed, and as I said, I've definitely put it through its paces, and it's held up just fine.

Fantastic Value, But Not Perfect

I rarely write a review, but had this saw for just over a year and it stopped working. I would say I was a casual user, I didn't use it that often.  I went to cut a piece of wood and smelled smoke coming from the saw.  The motor was no longer strong enough to cut a simple piece of wood.
